If Adidas want to be at the top, this is the combination they need for their midsole (in order from top to bottom):
Boost
Pebax
Carbon fiber plate
Pebax
Boost
Continental rubber

I love the sub2 for track workouts and 5k/10k road races. I've never run a marathon but I would certainly consider it if I were to run one.
RunningWarehouse and Adidas don't have any on their sites. Does anyone know where I can still get new pairs?
Amazon has them. Sub2 for Sub$100. Good deal.
Big Adidas Boost fanboy here (although I couldn't help myself and got a pair of N% and love them) so I might give these Sub2 a try for track sessions instead of my Adios Boost 2 and Adios Boost 4. Same sizing ? The AB2 are pretty narrow in the front, the AB4 are much better for that.

I've never worn the AB2, but my sub2 run half a size smaller than my Bostons.

I wore a pair of sub 2s for a marathon a couple of years back. They are awesomely minimal and fast, but you are going to pay for it afterwards. I think they look cool casually and I wear them around from time to time.
That's the thing, it's the recovery from training in the Vaporflys that gives a long run cumulative advantage. A Kenyan friend of mine told me that the first time he raced a big city half in the 4% he didn't think they gave a massive advantage over the streaks but the next day he went straight back to normal training, no stiffness.

Thanks, do that means I'd need 12.5 instead of 12...neither are available at less than 100$ unfortunately :-(
I have a pair of the sub2. Size wise they seem to fit similarly to the boston 6 and 7. I really love the way they feel when running, probably the best experience regarding shoes. But, only for a short time. Running anything longer than an hour and my legs are destroyed. For comparison, with the boston 7 i can comfortably run 2 and a half hours and my legs still feel ok.
Great shoes, but i'd be very hesitant to use in anything over 10 or 15k.
