how do they know the lung damage could be from china air quality
just like pneumonia (and SARS, and MERS, and so on)
The paper said that it is too early to know if covid causes irreversible lung fibrosis, like SARS. But it gives me some sympathy for those old people that I encounter who have tubes in their noses for extra oxygen. I usually dismiss them as stupid people who didn't take precautions to prevent lung damage, so they got what they deserve.

There are SO many reasons that a person could need supplemental oxygen, especially when elderly that have nothing to do with how much responsibility they took over their own health. Glad you are opening your mind.
If you read the underlying paper, they examined people who had DIED from the disease and concluded there was fibrosis.
Well, duh - the fibrosis caused them to die. The original paper says nothing about permanent lung damage on those who have recovered.
Shoddy reporting by that Australian news outlet.

The mainstream press' coverage of this issue is a circus. If the consequences of the hysteria weren't so huge it be comically inaccurate.
Autopsies of people that died from a severe respiratory illness!? Are you kidding me? You think these people have anything to do with a healthy runner that develops a flu like illness? This is pure clickbait my friend. And they keep doing it because it works. It's so dishonest.

Wrong.
After smoking for 37 years, this famous individual, caused permanent damage to his lungs.
Just look at the late Leonard Nimoy (Mr Spock) from Star Trek TOS. He died of COPD after 30 years of no smoking.

Yeah, well, it's a truism that hatred is often a product of ignorance.
