RRR: Great to see you running again! Tyler and AJ: Thanks for the insight, guys. I've never had sustained success doing doubles myself, and the times when I've been able to keep them up the best have been when I was (a) keeping the second run pretty minimal and (b) not really doing workouts. So, Tyler's rationale totally makes sense to me, and AJ's 13/13 the day after a long run pretty much blows my mind. (I do kind of like asymmetrically structured weeks, though.)
Sounds like a great plan. I am thinking along similar lines, except that my first step with the hills (apart from just hitting the trails) will probably involve short, steep, but not very hard hills. And probably some easy strides/light fartlek. Did a little of that this morning, actually. If things go well, I may do a couple of days with longer hills (like you're describing) next month, to prep my legs a little for the race in April.
