This is typical of Nike. Guess what, nothing is going to change and Alberto Salazar will be back!
So you have seen the report . Or you are just angry at the world ? The BTC gals seem happy ? and are in the middle of a Nike promotion .

Participating in the investigation would have been like participating in an open discussion with Letsrun about how to make LRC more hospitable to women. Kangaroo court.
Bad reporting by Erin. But I don’t know what to expect at this point from her.
Nike released their finding during 3 separate “town hall” type forums at Nike. As I understand anyone could attend as soon as you signed up. So they aren’t giving them out to the general public but they released them to all Nike employees who wanted to attend. I’m sure you can ask a Nike employee as I did what they found. Here’s a summary: Mary’s abuse story wasn’t corroborated by any former OP athlete. I’m guessing that means everyone but Mary, Kara and Amy.
If you’re a reporter though you should really be doing more homework before you publish a story. But in today’s age it obviously doesn’t matter what the truth is as long as you play to your base. Shame on you Erin.
Agreed. And shame on Nike for not being more open with their findings.
Egads! You mean to tell me Erin and Mary Cain distorted the truth again to fit their #metoo agendas? I'm shocked. /s
This reporter has 2 strikes . 1. Lazy research and not caring about any journalistic values 2. Coming to conclusions about Nike and the investigation without knowing what was in the report . Shame Shame .
Lol, yes. Nike investigating Nike's star coach,
Then Nike allegedly telling Nike employees that Nike athletes didn't corroborate Mary's story,
And now letsrun trolls / Nike PR shills concluding that Mary is a liar. LOL. Only on letsrun...
NOP being investigated by the people who enabled, supported, encouraged, funded and defended them.
I can't for the life of me think of one good reason why Mary wouldn't want to participate.

Bad reporting? She broke the story to the world. I think ti's pretty good reporting. It sounds like you have access to the release that was handed out. Instead of complaining, why don't you a) send it to me at
robertjohnson@letsrun.comor b) post it online so everyone can read it .

Mary challenged Nike to have an open investigation by a third party and they chose to do an internal investigation in order to hide real info. I don't blame her for not participating as she shouldn't have. It's likely to be just swept under the rug with no resolution.
Did you forget that they still back Alberto Salazar. Why are you picking on the OP?
I see it both ways
You can't blame Mary for not participating because the panel would have likely been very biased against her. This is the same company that supported Salazar's defense.
But if the main person who is the center of the investigation doesn't even speak, what was Nike going to do? She can't defend herself in the investigation and without direct quotes from her they're going off stories from previous media quotes. They likely need more details than that.
Any piece Nike would have sent out about their investigation without her would have been heavily criticized by Cain if it didn't 100% cater her. If there was even an ounce of bias or justification from Nike the report would have got torn to threads. That's even more bad publicity for Nike.
Does she have any idea why businesses exist? They are for profit not to appease queen mary. Her latest interview is more distasteful behavior. I am tired of hearing from biased sources with axes to grind that just like to complain.
que the Nike brown nose....Ken Goe
It's so easy to criticize Nike, but ... does Nike owe anyone anything in this whole story?
I feel for Mary, and other women, who suffered emotional and physical stress, but it doesn't seem like Nike was required to do any investigation at all, either internally or independently.
I think it doesn't look all that fair on the part of Mary, that she never said anything before, and refused to offer feedback during Nike's investigation into the issue, and then complain about not being informed of the results.
I guess what Nike found was that an elite program run mostly by men was insensitive to the specific physical and psychological needs of women.
Seems like this list of initiatives should be viewed as a victory for women, or at least as a step forward.
The initiatives that Nike identified include:
• Investing in scientific research into the impact of elite athlete training of girls and women
• Increasing the number of women coaches in sports
• Hiring a vice president of global women’s sports marketing in the coming weeks to have “strategic oversight” of Nike’s female athletes
• Creating an athlete think tank to help the company understand the opportunities and challenges faced by female athletes
• Partnering with Crisis Text Line, a free, confidential text messaging service for people to ask for help when in crisis

Serious question? She didn't speak because Nike investigated itself, behind closed doors. Pointless. Look at the current "trial" in the Senate, where over 90% of the Republicans don't want to hear any witnesses, and McConnell declared the accused innocent before the begin of the "trial". Or the corrupt IAAF investigating themselves after their cover-up scandal, and Coe declared the accused innocent before the begin of the "investigation".
Instead, Nike should have launched an independent, transparent investigation by experts without a conflict of interest, and openly demanded full participation of its employees.
