How quickly will Degefa crumble? Or will she run away from the field and win comfortably? Seems crazy to go up by 45+ seconds through 10K.

32:23 Women @ 10K. On course record pace! Fast. Low , low 2:17 pace?

I don't know if she's going to crumble. She ran 2:17 in Dubai last year. She also got a huge lead early in Boston and held on to win there, though she did fade a little during the second half.

What race are you watching? Chepng’etich isn’t in the race, nobody is close to Degefa and men went through 10k in 29:36.
Watching the 2019 race. I'm old, give me a break. Reminds me of the story about the old guy watching a football game and when they would show replays of touchdowns, he thought the team had scored again!
It happens. 2019's thread is where I found the 29:11...

The lack of next% should have been a dead giveaway ?
Degefa is only getting faster. 16:22-16:06-16:04. Now on 2:16:30 pace through 15k.

Speaking of those carbon rockets, I was more than a little surprised to look down at the start of a local 1/2 marathon this weekend that I was running in and seeing more than 50% of the runners sporting them.
Hutchings with some height shaming.
Osako on pace at half to break his own NR?
Osako checks his watch too much.

Oh, that explains the constant watch checking.

2019 was a better race. This is a bit boring.
Men so slow, women 2-10 surprisingly quick
