So TFN added up everyone's world ranking points for the decade. If you were #1 in the world in a given year, you got 10 points. If you were 10th, you got 1 pot. So a perfect score would be100. The exercise was only done in one event so someon like Eliud Kipchoge who spent only part of the decade as a marathoner didn't fare great.
And using this the most dominant athletes of the decade were Christian Taylor (TJ 89 points) for the men and Anita Włodarczyk (HT 89 points) for the women. Only two distance runners cracked the top 10 of either gender and both were men. 1500 man Asbel Kiprop was the 7th best man of the decade with 69 points while steeplechaser Conseslus Kipruto was 8th with 68 points.
