You second point is good and well taken but your first point is way off. I like Jim as I’ve said so many times now. You seem to be ignoring that Jim was a so called “pure” runner. He ran 13:50 5K in college and a 8:4X steeple chase, so of course he can train to run a fast half or full. I simply dislike his fans that don’t understand running.
It seems most of the people on Letsrun don't understand running let alone Jim's fans.

it says they measure the shortest possible path for certified courses and runners can’t possibly take the shortest possible path so they will all inevitably run longer
It's actually pretty easy to run the shortest possible path (or at least negligibly close to it) even in a crowded race, and as D.Katz pointed out, you could even theoretically run less than the shortest possible path. Furthermore GPS is not precise enough to pick up a runner's tiny deviations from the shortest possible route which the smoothening algorithms would eliminate anyway. The reason courses measure 13.2+ on GPS is because of actual GPS error (which you can usually spot on the map) which has more to do with the quality of reception. That wasn't an issue in this case, possibly by luck, the GPS measurement was spot on.

]115 mile weeks is no where near the 150 mile week and several 170+ mile weeks the few before that. Jim will be a factor at the trials even if it’s just to destroy people on the hills for the first couple laps. I doubt he’s not too 10. I’d say decent chance for top 5.
So on a single day where 20 Americans ran faster in Hosuston, while doing high mileage and not tapering, he will still be top 5? Pipe dream. He's just not that fast.
So you believe that all 20 of those Americans were training through this? All 20 of those never-race Americans, most of whom were wearing Cheaterflys? At some point, you know, someone is going to have to run fast around here. The women's WR has already swallowed up the majority of Americans.
Didnt Jim wear hoka carbon spring shoes (that werent available to the public) for his 50 mile publicity stunt?
Loose their minds? As opposed to tight their minds?
Apparently not much dope testing in ultramarathon running. For the Oly Trials they'll have testing if one does well. Anybody that may be one something might have to taper off the juice a bit if you know what I mean
As wejo says, people should take it as a compliment when someone makes completely unfounded doping accusations. You must love Walms.
If anyone actually has reason to believe someone is doping, WADA accepts tips. It's right on the front of their homepage, where its says, "Speak Up! Report Doping". Otherwise, if you're starting rumors, and just being an azzhole.
Jim is a professional and knows exactly what's up. When he toes the line in Atlanta, he'll be doing in for the love of the game.
What a joke.
As a libertarian, I believe that J. Wallmsley should be fined by USATF for mischaracterizing his performance. This is blatant false advertising, and not something that I want my family learning from their role models.
Jim W. is am embarrassment to this sport and this country.

They only ran HALF OF A RACE. That second half is where those extra 50 miles a week will be the most important. As far as us Walmsley fans, we are VERY educated about running and know PRECISELY what kind of times to predict that are not too fast as to be believable but fast enough that it PI55E5 off all the haters.
not too fast as to be believable
not too fast as to be unbelievable
If you actually bothered to look at the results you’d see a lot actually weren’t wearing vaporflys lol there were Saucony’s, Hoka’s, and even On’s. Not that Jim isn’t wearing a carbon plated shoe himself or anything. However, I think the guy’s main point was this wasn’t even the whole field that will be at the trials.
Bold claim to speak for all Walmsley fans lol a lot of them actually believe he’s going to win or get top 3
Oh the GPS just got lucky in this race lol okay. I just think people are ignoring how much GPS watches have improved in accuracy.
He wore carbon rockets. That shoe does not have a carbon plate. You should occasionally try doing some research before throwing out total nonsense.
Also, another 18 miles today so I'd call his workout yesterday pretty solid compared to the people who actually raced it.

This is an Olympic year. The Olympic trials are barely a month away. Why in the world would they taper for Houston right before the US trials? Did you not realize this year is different? The international guys were probably all tapered though.
The carbon....rocket does not have a carbon....plate hmmmmm... fascinating. It does in case you don’t pick up on sarcasm.
I’ll leave a link as I sense you somehow won’t believe the carbon rocket has a carbon plate lol

You also somehow failed to realize the guy that beat him by a minute ran with him today and put in 16.6 miles himself lol.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
