6 weeks out from my first marathon, training by myself based off of youtube videos and forums(probably not the best way but anyhow):
My goal is to run at 6:26 pace or 4:00 per km which would result in a 2:48:48 marathon time which is my ultimate goal.
Bit of Background: I am now 23, been in running/triathlon my whole life until 4 years ago because of army service.
Been training for around 3 months now and currently at 77 miles per week and this next week going for 80 miles.
This has been my last week of training:
Sun: 7.5 miles 7:20 easy pace
Monday: 10.5 miles 7:18 pace easy
Tuesday: Double - Morning 6 miles 7:35 pace recovery, evening 2k warmup 10k tempo at 35:39(could have kept that pace for another 2k), 2k warm down
Wednesday: 7.5 miles 7:20 easy pace
Thursday: 10 miles 7:10 easy/steady pace
Friday: 7.5 miles 7:20 easy pace
Saturday: 20.5-mile Long run- 8 miles 7:08 pace steady/easy 12 miles MP pace(actually did 6:15 average pace but felt good and strong, could have kept going) -.5 mile warm down
Total for the week: 77 miles
On Tuesdays, I normally do speed sessions of 6*1 mile or pyramids, but this week wanted to test my fitness with a 10k tempo
What do you guys think? Where could I improve and do you think I am able to hit my goal?
