I’ve been wanting to run a marathon this summer as my HS coach doesn’t allow his runners to run marathons, and I really want the experience. I plan on competing collegiately in the 400-1600 though and I just want some thoughts. Coach has told me if I do end up doing XC I’ll probably run unattached until I can get some stronger marks at longer distances.
There aren’t gonna be any organized team XC practices until mid summer.
Should I just go for it and run a marathon or consult my coach first? I know I need more aerobic work so I think this would be good for me.
