I [22M] am planning on running a March marathon in Zoomflys. Took them for a spin on my 15 mile progressive LR (

) today and they really hurt on every impact. The ball/forefoot of my foot where I strike almost feels bruised and it hurts to even walk after the run.
Is this a normal thing in the process of breaking in Zoomflys?
My alternative thought is that I don't naturally land on my midfoot, so maybe I don't take advantage of the "rocking" that zoomflys / the carbon-fiber plate are supposed to provide. This could be resulting in a ton of force being applied straight into the ball of my foot, which feels like running on asphalt that actively pushes against you (the carbon fiber plate).
