100% - the irony about what the IAAF/World Athletics will do in terms of limiting stack height (which I believe they will) is that simple physics and athlete perception is doing this for them anyway.
Because a number of runners (especially elites) are already on that edge of uneasiness with the heights of the nxt% and medial/lateral stability and I know for a fact a number aren't comfortable with the alpha simply because it is so far off the ground.
Also more midsole material = more weight so we are almost at a point of diminishing returns which is why a lot of the uppers on these shoes are becoming farcically minimal and uncomfortable . If you think the nxt% was made with that awful TPU ribstop material with absolutely no internal support to "keep out potential water uptake weight" I would think twice - it's more likely to offset the weight gained by adding another 20% of foam weight to the shoe.
A rules update on shoe geometry doesn't and won't change anything - certainly not the rapid evolution of this innovative program from Beaverton.
