I heard Nike is coming out with a new flat, similar to the Streak but with Zoom X foam. Could be the answer. Lower stack height and don’t think it has a plate.

Well, Vaporfly. I'm not elite and not likely to even factor into age group placings. If they make my legs feel less beat up, then that's what I'm going for. I run for fun.
The New Balance 1500 has been pretty good to me over the years. Nothing fancy, just a light trainer with a touch of support. Haven't tried the latest version yet as I'm still on my v5's.

Have you put these on?

If they banned the Vaporfly why would the Endorphin Pro be allowed?

One of the many shoes I've worn for years. Never felt a need to wear springs.

Fixed it for you.
Saucony Endorphin Pro, Asics Metaracer, Brooks Hyperion Elite, etc. You know, all the shoes coming out in 2020 with higher stack heights (except for the Metaracer, I think) and plates in them? Come to think of it, they sound a lot like Vaporflys...

Same shoes I use now. Skechers Speed 6 Hyper.
my PB in 2016 was set with the Nike Zoom Elite 9, which is slower than the regular Streak 6 but I wasn't a fanatic shoe geek at that point...
If I had to race a marathon tomorrow in a shoe I already own...it would probably be the Boston 6 or a Zoom Fly Flyknit. would consider my Reebok Floatride Run Fasts but haven't worn those much yet.
the NB 1500 wouldn't be a bad option either. I've gotten hurt from shoes that lack support before, so probably a shoe like the 1500 or the DS trainer would be smarter long-term

Lots could do that with PED's too but still take a pass on both PED's and springs.

I'd use my Takumi Sen 3s or my Adio 2s (non-Boost, got in 2012) or Wave Universe 4s (also 2012). I haven't run a road race since Vaporflies came out, so I haven't missed out, yet.
Asics TartherEdge.
