apologies for any misspelling in the title...
Have any of you lot had chronic hamstring issues? I think I have just re-torn the hamstring I tore 12 months ago (almost to the day). I say I think as I plan on getting an MRI referral for confirmation, but it reeks of a reoccurrence. I don't think I rushed my recovery last time around, nor did I have a pronounced spike in training mileage (worked on the 10% rule (or less), long run peaked at 25kms, weekly distance peaked at 90kms in early November). Background - 45y.o, running 6-7 days a week, not that fast, regularly did strengthening/dynamic stretching exercises for glutes/hips/hammy post-run
With your experiences, how have you dealt with hamstring injuries? What sort of time have you taken to recover? I expect a minimum of 4-6 weeks of running, which may well be conservative. I'm not your typical high-salaried LetsRunner (not the US, either,) so with family to balance, how should I deal with this? Ideally those who've had multiple setbacks can contribute their ten cents' worth...
