Week of 8/3-8/9:
8/3: 7 miles steady
8/4: 5 miles easy
8/5: 1.2 mile warm-up, 20 x 120m hill, 1.4 mile cool down
8/6: 5.5 miles steady
8/7: 1.6 mile warm up, 6x800 @ LT, 1.6 mile cool down
8/8: 4 miles easy
8/9: off
Another decent week. I really, really need to extend my long run another mile. Felt like absolute trash on Tuesday, was struggling to hit even 830 pace. Hills on Wednesday we’re fine, I screwed up the pacing a bit. The first 12 or so were at 4:50-5:10, and I paid for it in the last 8; they were closer to 5:45 average pace. Played some basketball Thursday morning and the run in the afternoon was good. The LT workout on Friday was weird. I wanted to hit 6 800’s at 3:10. I ended up hitting 3:07, 3:08, 3:03, 3:02, 3:07, 3:00 with 1 minute rest in between. I felt fine during it, and didn’t realize how fast I was going until I finished the rep.
Whole damn state just got put back into lockdown so not only are the tracks closed, but the parks I do some of my workouts in are also closed. Going to have find some new places to run. As an aside, our state came extremely close to require masks at all times when not in your home, including going out for a run. When there was pushback, the mayor said if the mask made it hard to exercise, then to not exercise.
