Sounds like somebody got smoked in their last race by a guy who runs early every morning.
Stop whining. Work harder.

OP, the life you describe is one of discipline. No surprise it doesn't sound fun to you or almost anyone that hasn't gotten accustomed to it.
OP is a loser. Tries to be so insightful yet repeats himself in a weak attempt to seem knowledgeable.
Go back to your mommy’s basement you loser.
Hang on what? You think that people with no life get up and run at 4:30am? Perhaps those are people who work every day for a living? Not college kids who run at 6am a few times a month and go back to bed after?!
Do what works for you. I run at 5am and usually do some lifting afterwards. Then I go to work at 9am. I leave work at 5pm so that I can go on about my day (hang out with girlfriend, friends, eat out, dinner out home, whatever ect.). A lot of my friends work full-time at their job too and so they usually don't stay out late. I go to bed probably at around 9:30pm so usually 7-7.5 hours of sleep.
If I don't work out early then I won't work out for the day because I have stuff to do. If I'm tired I do less. If my body feels completely f*cked while training hard for a race then I'll just take a day off from working out.
Everyone's situation is different. If it's completely unnecessary and overkill to workout at 4am, 5am, 6am, then just workout in the later part of the morning. Or in the evening. And of course things change so you just adjust (start becoming a parent, grad school, new job, new business idea, ect.)
Up in time to make the donuts!
Thanks, Dunky's man.
There are 24 hours in a day. No time is off limits to run. Some of us start work at 7am and don't get off until 13 hours later, meaning that 4am is the only time to run. If you have a passion and a goal, you don't make excuses and do what needs to be done.

TrueFFFFFahh. Amen bruddah. Some people just done respect da grind. Kudos to every soul out there pushing the limit.
We all elite in my eyes
i used to get up at 5 am and do 4.5 miles and then come home, eat rolled oats, peaches and raisins plus cans of tuna, and be back in bed at 6xx am, and sleep to 8 am and then get up for the day.
this worked very well, but i found it hard to run the first few miles...
You should be grateful if you have been disciplined and healthy enough to be able to wake up at 5am and run.

You can run on that schedule sure, but of you go from 4 years of doubling in the light both runs in college to training at 4 am, you probably won't see a pr.
Hey, l might run at 10:00 am Sunday for my long run, but that's only because l have to. If l had nothing to do all day there is no way l would get up at 4:30 to run, unless l could go back to bed or l was still up. You fools that run at that time are going to miss the game Monday and even tonight. You do realize that it doesn't make you better to run at that hour everyday, actually it in most cases makes you WORSE. Unless your best friend is your right hand, then how would you have a woman and satisfy her? and not just in the bed, l mean you would always be sleeping. She would probably cheat on you after you went to bed. It would be easy on the weekend's because she would have from 9:30 pm till 4:30 am to hookup.
Get up at 4am every weekday for years and see how late you sleep on weekends. Can’t sleep
past 5 if I try.

I am 48, so l feel you. But where is your life?

I live life between 4a and 9p. On weekends and other events later. I do the occasional mid-morning or afternoon run but that’s rare mostly because I’m up early no matter what. It’s really a matter of scheduling. In my late 30’s not a lot of my friends are up for being out late either. We’re all professionals so we have as much fun in the time frame we allow ourselves. Also not having kids helps with having a life. We’re awake for the same number of hours a day. I do 4-9 others do 6-11 it’s as simple as what you do you during those hours makes up what kind of life you live.
I do this five times a week and have a great life.
I'm a morning person and need to get out before I have to deal with my five kids, wife, dog, and full time job.
Otherwise I just wouldn't be able to run at all and would be seriously depressed.
For people running for mental health they are grateful for the ability to get up in the morning and get moving.
Wow. You are really special.
Why don’t you have kids? Are you a self absorbed person?
I have kids. Another reason l couldn't deal with that. My job would suffer because l would be falling asleep all the time. Then my wife would be running around town as l sleep, and my kids, who are 8 and 10 would suffer too. Life would suck if you did that day in day out. Unless you have nothing going on that kinda life SUCKS!! I am taking about doing it everyday, not sometimes.

Good point. Its 90deg by 7am in AZ in the summer. 430am is best option.
But my wife and I get up every day at 4-4:15. We have coffee in bed, read the news, have sex sometimes, then are in our home gym by 445 and get in a great hour workout before the kids wake up. I double and run at lunch. Go to bed at 9-9:30.
I'm no more tired on that schedule than when I was a bachelor and woke up every day at 8am. 7hrs of sleep is 7hrs of sleep.
