Will he be back to get beaten by Edris and the other at the Olympics?

"Grey" zone like banned drug cheat Salazar, hilarious.
Take whatever Kipchoge and Cheriyout are taking and subtract 50%. That's what Jakob is taking. Now I know you're a fan of the first two but not the 2nd. Wonder why?

Jakob is likely cleaner than 100% e africans
Jakob is not competing in the 5000m in the Olympics! I don´t think that Edris will run the 1500m?!

Darn. Was hoping Jakob would run something like 3:27/12:45 this year.
Wonder if his brother Filip has some PRs in him. Pretty sure he could go under 3:30.
I meant to reply to the guy who replied to you saying that there is no reason he still can't run those times.
But even if he is no faster than last season, I would still tip him for gold in Tokyo.
maybe hindsight is a making me a little too wise. But I did think at the time of the Sub-2 and that road 10k that he ran that it was odd to be back into competing so soon after a long summer season. Perhaps some weeks off and some weeks of more traditional "base millage" in the autumn would have been more sensible, especially for a 19 year old. I think it gets forgotten how young this guy is and how long a career he could potentially have if he is more cautious and prioritises the long term

Yes, they are probably being very cautious and don't want to risk anything.
Anyway, Jakob has likely many more Olympics to come. And I doubt if he has to be at 100% to win gold this year, especially if as claimed in this thread he will only run the 1500m. Rumor is that most of the top Kenyans are about to get busted, Big Mac surely will be too and is getting old anyway, as is Lewandowski.
3:27??
Nothing yet indicates 3:27.
Perhaps sub 3:30
Of course, that was before glute/back injury.
Kid has incredible potential, but it needs to be asked....
Is dad the right one to coach him now??
Obviously, incredible success with all three so far but Henrik hasn't been relevant for going on two years because of injury.
At what point does Gert's experiments with training and race frequency actually turn to damaging his sons?
Jakob competed in an insane amount of races and types of races last year. He attempted a 15/5k double at world's.
He ran 27.x in a road race right after outdoors paced Kipchoge's sub 2.
At 18 y.o.! Absurd. And greedy.
Is dad actually trying to get Jakob to be the best ever someday it is he more concerned that Karsten Warholm is actually the best Norwegian trackster this year?
Does Norwegian reality TV come into play?
I'd say dad is lucky to have such an athlete to train but I'm also starting to think Jakob would be just as good with a coach with more experience than one just guinnea pigging his boys till he found what works.
Gert is overreaching with Jakob.
Before anyone says what about Coe and his Dad remember, Peter Coe brought Seb along slower and never ran him into the ground as an 18 year old.
Jakob should consider other coaches.
Canova??
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
