Can I change it everyday? Like a countdown.
Eleventh finisher may be Limenih Getachew, 29yo and ranked 103. Best of 2.06.49 dates back six years, second in Paris. Was fifth in Barcelona last March in 2.07.30 then in November third in Shanghai, 2.09.14.
Next woman could be Obse Abdeta, born in 2000 and ranked 184. Was third in Shanghai in November in 2.27.47.
Next to cross the line next Friday should be Beshah Yersiie, no age on his profile and ranked 216. Fourth in Chuncheon in October in 2.08.37. Was sixth in the short Abu Dhabi in 2018 in 2.10.01.
Twelfth female might be Haimanot Alemayehu, 29yo and ranked 514. Was second in Seville in 2018 taking 8.31 off her prev best, bursting into 2.25.51. Since then returned to mediocrity with two finishes outside 2.40.
13th to finish may be Tesfaye Lencho Anbesa, born 97 and ranked 232. Won Venice in October in 2.10.49. Third in Hefei in 2018 in 2.11.46.

Note the List will grow. This is NOT the entire Elite List.
As always, you were exactly right. And it grew quite late.

Happy New Year. Tipping an upset among the men. Deme Tadu Abate is 22yo and ranked 69. Ran both Hamburg and Amsterdam both the last two years with differing results, more soon.
This guy could be a scratching as well. Shame.
Seemed to be missing from the list a week ago, now back on. I wonder what pace they go through the half in, 1.02?

Second woman should be Alemu Megertu, born 97 and ranked 34. Breakthrough in April with win in Rome in 2.22.52, taking 5.16 off her prev. best. Then amazing fourth in the Copenhagen half in 66.43 without any previous form at that distance. In October, second in Frankfurt in 2.21.10. At halfway that day, was in a peloton of five in 69.25 chasing Jemeli, already 1.43 behind.
And now, Alemu may be off. Pity. Wanted to see someone push Degefa.

Sixth finisher in his debut may be Eric Kiptanui, 29yo and ranked 107 as a road runner. Disappointing ninth in the Delhi half alter impressive pacing duties at the INEOS event. PB at the half is from Berlin 2018: winning in 58.42.
Eric Kiptanui is talking big!

2.04 could be quick enough this year.

Replaced in the field by two who could finish top five here: Gutemi Shone and Buze Diriba. Shone once was runner-up in Houston in 2.23.xx and won Kolkata 25k last month in 1.22.09 (last 5k in 16.09). Diriba has a 66.50 half but her time over this classic distance was only 2.28.xx. Pulled out after 21 miles in New York after passing halfway in 1.11.55.

Having a day out approaching 25k as we speak.
