Odd you accuse me of a Swiss obsession -- you are the one who brought Switzerland into the discussion, when I was talking about US and UK governments not required to have public referendums.
If a simple free trade agreement is all they want, they already have it today.
Not sure how 100% alignment today helps, since the UK wants to change that, and voted to leave in order to have the freedom to make these EU non-compliant changes.
Europe would have them agree to be compliant to EU regulations and laws, like Switzerland did in many bi-lateral agreements.
Switzerland also agreed to contribute to the EU budget -- something Britain also wants to get out of.
I suppose European corporations will restructure to avoid the uncertainty, by shifting their operations back to Europe.
Which model best represents how Britains will "leave"? Norway? Switzerland? Ukraine? Turkey? Canada? No-deal?
