I will say I guess that I understand why OP started this thread. I came to running when Rupp was emerging as the best distance runner in the US. I remember him at Oregon and then crushing the 10k as a pro. The older I got, the less & less I liked him. As a fan, he doesn't have a fun personality. More and more came out about Salazar and he's now clouded in suspicion. I know there has been some back and forth so far, but I'm pretty over Rupp. I'd rather follow a 2:09-2:12 guy or any number of women under 2:30 who has some personality & is outspoken about doping. His time has run out for many of us. I'm just not interested in a Salazar apologist rn. There are plenty of other things to be excited about in our sport.
For those of us who have courage, we still care and believe in Galen Rupp. What an incredible running career he has already had and continues to have.
Just listened to Forgot About Dre again and it reminded me of how Galen doesnt give an F about OP or any other loser poster here. "F RAP, YOU CAN HAVE IT BACK" as Dre says...meaning, he came back from obscurity to produce a platinum album and made it so good that even if he quit rapping forever at that moment, he could let all the other competitors take the crown and hed still be satisfied. Same with Rupp.
Rupp has gone farther than any other American. No other American will ever come close.
And it gets even better. Not only can Rupp walk away right now and be a baller, he is going to come back and kick all of the other Americans' sses. Rupp and Salazar are legit.
Oh, and to the OP, Rupp could care less about you in 2020.
