Sorry to state the obvious but here's why he won't medal:
1. It will be hot in Japan and Albert Salazar won't be there to hand him a new hat every 5k filled with ice. East Africans are better at heat dissipation and have a scientific advantage
2. Everyone will have Vaporflys or Alphaflys or knockoffs. In 2016 nobody he beat had Vaporflys, and everybody with Vaporflys beat him
1) It was pretty hot in Rio, he won a bronze medal there. He seems to handle the heat just fine. I don't think it matters if Salazar will or won't be there.
2) The shoes don't matter nearly as much as you say. He ran 2:05 or 2:06 (whatever it was) with vaporflys... Do you honestly think that a 26:40's 10k runner is incapable of a 2:05 or 2:06 and that it was all because of the shoes? Good grief. Vaporflys don't matter nearly as much as people on this site think. Keep drinking the cool-aid.
