1930 Travers Jim Dandy was 100-1. Track conditions plus the favorites’ race strategy opened the door for what is arguably one of horse racing’s biggest upsets. Jim Walmsley isn’t a horse, but if Rupp is out and/ or if Fauble and Ward chase and bonk, why not? Realistically, he probably needs some weather like heavy rain/wind/extreme temps and a couple other guys like Stinson to bonk, but a 2:12-2:14 seems plausible. If things fall his way with the other competitors, he could be the next Jim Dandy. That’s why they bother running the race instead of just inviting whichever 3 they want.
Heavy rain and wind and Walmsley is the first to quit. He is not the runner for adverse conditions.
