I watched 1:16. He's smart. He's passionate about his product. Yes, he is a good marketer.
So ... I’ve watched the last 2 videos that were posted here, both times thinking that I would come away thinking he’s kind of a self-absorbed tool.
But in fact, I have to admit that he seems like a pretty good guy. He seems personable and likable.

Nick Symmonds doing weird things...again. They call this marketing?
When do you find time for your fake girlfriend? She must be lonely.
Sorry but he seems like an ok guy wrote:

Indeed. I'm a way bigger fan now than when he was running pro.
He kinda reminds me of tobacco companies targeting kids.
But his shameless wearing of a Walmart shirt was pretty funny. Did he get that from a thrift store?
Look at the viewcount on some of his latest videos. Over a million view on multiple videos. That means he's making some advertising money off of his videos and reaching a broader audience to advertise to. Throw on a clickbait title and thumbnail and you'll get a good amount of clicks. Relatively entertaining also.
Symmonds seems like a great guy. i'll never get the haters. WOuld probably be fun to have a bunch of beers with.
I'm considering finding one of those ambulance chasing lawyers and filing a suit against Symmonds and Run Gum for false advertising. I'm also going to the CFPB and submitting a complaint against Run Gum. Symmonds clearly and in more than one video, said that he was giving away ALL of his ad revenue. He is clearly representing Run Gum in the video. He enticed people to subscribe to his channel with the promise that he would give away the ad revenue. That only lasted for 2 weeks and then he stopped. This is clearly a deceptive business practice and he baited subscribers and did not deliver what was promised.
How sad that a 2 time Olympian lies to his fans just to get some YouTube money.
This site attracts kids or maybe even adults that just want to diminish every single great runner now or in the past. This is a very weird phenomena to me. In my day, we actually held great runners in high esteem. The only thing I can speculate is that sites like this give voice to people who have low self-esteem, and diminishing others somehow give them a sense of control and power.

+1
But you and I just don’t get it, and should leave.
Sick Nymmonds, you clearly watch all of Nick’s videos. Every time he posts a new video you’re on here trashing him for it. You’re like a boy on the playground who pushes the girl he has a crush on because he doesn’t know how to deal with his feelings. Have you tried just telling Nick you’re in love with him?
You’re talking about it.

You sounds desperate, pathetic and sad. You'd go out of your way to chase him because he appears successful.
He has nothing to do with you.
I've seen you start threads about him before. Focus on your own life. You can surely find something better to do than go after NS.
At first I found Symmonds absolutely, positively annoying. But now I'm liking it.
Hey Nick -- WALMART!
Seems like a good guy. Nice to those kids. I hope his business is successful.
I feel like the first 10 posts are his marketing team talking to them selves and then real people started posting. Runners are stupid and marketing teams can play you all like a fiddle. Now go drop $250 on a pair of shoes.
Rando: "Don't you run or something?"
Symmonds: "Used To."
Yeah, he's pitching a product, but he seems genuinely friendly and encouraging of others in their running. Lot of smiling folks in that vid.
He looks a lot like the famous rapper Krispy Kreme, now known as Froggy Fresh
Nick seems like a decent guy. He's maximizing his life, having fun, and making a living. In other to do that he accepts the reality that he has to have something to sell and that's notoriety in a second class sport that has few fans.
There are better known and more successful American distance runners out there that could monetize their places in the sport by building following beyond non-spending diehard fans. By refusing to hustle even a little they are leaving money on the table, admittedly not much but some and even better it's available after retiring from competition. The reason is because runners are anti-social, arrogant, and lazy. Nick is obviously an introvert but stars in his own Youtube videos anyway, which can't be anymore embarrassing than running around in your underwear in front of thousands of people.
Nick telling you to take control over your own life.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
