Way to pollute a great thread with SJD.
Shame.

Good stuff. That downhill did look dangerous.
Doesn't count - he wore the hoka hoaxes

Those look like Speedgoat Evos. They are just EVA. No special foam, no plate.
Walmsley might pull of the historic World Mountain + USA Marathon Champ double.

NOW, this is a very nice joke on a cold Sunday afternoon.
Well done.

Bad trolling? Mountain running is distinctly it’s own defined category because it’s steeper and more technical than trailrunning, which is easier. Jim won the second tier long mountain race. Heck, he’s a midpacker in traditional cross country racing. There’s no way he could keep up with Joe or the Ugandans if they’d been there.
Huh? There is a reason Gray and the Ugandans don't do the premier events like WS100. They're simply not cut out for it.
They do fine with sideshow short events of which no one knows about.
You're right, they probably aren't cut out for it. It's like saying Lagat isn't cut out for the marathon. Duh. JG is insanely good at what he does, and would almost certainly handle the best guys from ultra in shorter mountain races, especially with big vert.
Walmsley took a crack at JGs incline record before PP this year...way off.
JG is very, very good at what he does. Walmsley, Killian, etc. are very good at what they do. Different events, with different physiologys that excel at each.
Walmsley could beat Kilian and losers will still say he isn't good.
Sage, the less you win the more you become an antidoping warrior.
Is this good or bad preparation for making the Olympic team in February? I'll take my question off air and listen.

There is no way that Walmsley is making the Olympic team. And it doesn't matter how he prepares.
Don't forget, he has never run a full marathon.
Uh, Jim has run about 70 full marathons in his career.

How is Wamsley's stride so unbelievably gorgeous? I run like a bridge troll in comparison.
He still hasn't won the Mount Washington Race!!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Washington_Road_Race

Is that important? Especially for Walmsley? This is some short road race. What's the point?
This is something maybe Puppi should be running.
Correct.
Puppi is the top short race mountain runner in the world. Has he not even attempted Mt. Washington? Is it that small potatoes?

Of course I mean running it in a real race.
Where did you come up with that joke? Puppi is not even the best Italian short mountain runner let alone in the world. Puppi raced the world champion Gray and also Douglas who finished 7th this year and he was not even close, twice! Puppi has also raced some of the top Italians this summer and again, not even close. He is a great mountain athlete but let's not get drunk here and make up stories like he is the best as his results dont paint that picture.

Where did I come up with that? I guess that would be WMRC website? You know the one in the link that has all of the rankings...
Gray is not the world champion..there isn't really such a thing in mountain running. Closest thing would be the World Cup winner. That would be Douglas. He merely won a one off race without the top guys (Douglas already won the World Cup so the race was not a big deal to him) that is called the "world championship" race. It is the only international race he won this year, and he won it ahead of a barely known guy - Maestri. Beating him by just a few seconds.
Puppi has lost to Gray and Douglas but Puppi has run a lot more and won a lot more races as well. Can't expect him to win everything. Gray has lost to Canaday before and I don't see you suggesting in this case that he is better than Gray.
