Braking: hobby jogger runs at same 7 min pace while hr is 1-2 bpm less in next % vs trainers.
He is no professional shoe disassembler. Will take a while to put that shoe back together.
Certainly these shoes could be put through in a lab with mechanics testing equipment to get objective findings of the energy return properties in comparison to more traditional shoes to end this dispute once and for all.
Who cares? Nick, stop promoting yourself here. At least have some commentary on the video if you're going to simply copy and paste a link.

If you are interested just watch it or you need to be spoon fed....
Btw as it is fairly clear that the plate is a non-issue....
This is a perfect video from a lab test that compares Nike Vaporfly 4% and Nike Vaporfly next% with other brands, including adidas adios.
I was brought to tears when I saw the thumbnail :(
burrrp
Pretty good video to be honest. Makes me think there's nothing illegal about these at all.
Just wow... wrote:

BYU, led by Jared Ward & Ian Hunter already did this with the 4%, but not the next %. It was a comprehensive study.
Nick appears to have no clue that the Next% and the AlphaFLY's are two different shoes. The patent he pulls up is for the AlphaFly. And he talks about how he didn't find any airbags in the Next%s and that it's BS.

Is there some discussion of this test or similar? I see the chart they had at the end. The next% has much lower lactate and VE, but I would like to see some interpretation.
I don't know, but the numbers speak for themselves. 4% is definitely a notch better than the other shoes.
Holy fack, Symmonds is a clueless idiot.

In the video he states, very clearly I might add, the difference between the two and acknowledges no air pockets in the Next% and that they are only in the AlphaFly.

A perfect video, the most beautiful video, some day maybe even the most perfect video, no quid pro quo.
Hi Doug -
I care. I enjoy his videos and personality. I also appreciate his entrepreneurial spirit. Creating social media content is a great way to promote a brand, product, and personality in the year 2019 - It's also very appropriate content for a website dedicated to the community of running. Thanks for sharing this OP.
What 4 year old did Nick hire to edit the photo on his youtube channel? Did they use Paint?
Nick is clearly just trying to boost his clout with flashy thumbnails and video titles. All to get that elusive "100k subs" mark.
I am only hating because that review was horrible. All he did was compare them to Cliftons (not even in the same realm), cut them open, and do a running and jumping test. Obviously you are going to jump and run faster in a racing shoe than a daily trainer.
This is exactly why there is so much hype about this shoe. Hobby joggers and idiots compare the vaporfly to their trainers, when they would run faster in a regular racing flat like the Adidas Adios Boost or New Balance 1400.
Carbon/pebax plates have been used for years. Just because the biggest shoe company in the world spends millions on R&D and develops a better geometry for it, doesn't mean that they should be banned. Sketchers, New Balance, Saucony, Adidas, and practically every other shoe conglomerate is following suit.
Vaporflys are not springs. They are the best shoes on the market (for the marthon). Let the market work and develop better shoes. The market is the level playing field. It becomes screwed when idiot IAAF democrats who are bored to death decide to enact BS legislation about shoes.
Thank you for reading my rant
Nice rant. I liked the video. Of course NS isn't doing anything scientific. He never said it was. It was an informal, fun look at the shoes and how he performed in them.
