My Bib is ...12018.
RRR that is an amazing bib number. I hope they don’t make you line up in the 6:30 corral.
Good luck at Indy all, I hope you crush your goals and then celebrate with a few heart rate stimulating brews afterwards.

Laughed out loud at this. Because it’s funny, and oh so true. Haven’t had a Natty Ice since freshman year in college. And I never will again. Well, never say never, I could end up as a hobo alcoholic, in which case, I’ll be drinking all the Natty Ice I can get my hands on.

Will give it a try. R3 has been a good boy , gonna have to cut it loose post race. Plus I figure i am gonna be in pretty good spot of physical pain. Its playing tricks on my mind now.. feels good one minute and hurts another..
That’s about as hard as I’ll troll. :)
Trying to light the R3 fire I see. It works. I have triggers.
Need a MFer to roll a car onto the course and stop short and almost hit me. Then I could prolly PR 10k after that. Pure Hate is not the key. The key is Pure Rage.
The Stone Cutter:Smart move on the off days. Saturday looks great. 6:06 pace woohoo!!!BTW I joke about my shape because it took decades to get it this poor. ATM I'm still in my "get fit to run phase" so I can do a lot of other things to improve.
Mrs. Stone is looking good!!! lol running
outsiderunner:Man get better quick. Don't be afraid to take time off when needed. It takes a long time to lose fitness in your shape. It takes very little time to gain it back even if you do.
NiceGuy:Great job on the mileage PR. Do you run your recovery slower than easy pace?
AJ:Good Luck this weekend. I know you are targeting sub 2:40. My advice is secretly target 2:39:13. 6:05 pace. If push comes to shove win every mile. You are and have been better than 2:40 anyways.
slo-twitch:Best of Luck this weekend! Hoping to see that sub 2:30
RRR:Good Luck!!!
hoggy jobber:Very Nice week! I'd say mostly from gains in fitness.
legendre:Nice week!
highhoppingworm: Good luck on the race this weekend!
darkwave: Sorry to hear about the accident. I'm glad it wasn't worse. Are you feeling any better today?
GT:Kick some butt this weekend! Following your training for awhile now. It's very impressive how much you've changed. Good luck!
Bdubs:Congrats on the PR!!! I'm sure the next will be faster.
Sub 6:00:Nice week. I'd go after that 2 seconds in the 5k dang!
drcrusher:Great week!!! You're gonna do great in Philly.
JQ:Great job!!! again. How are yo feeling?
Napper:Very nice uneventful week!
IllinoisRunner:Welcome. Have you run that Footlocker course before?
BHViking:Nice week! 5% incline for 35 ouch.
Coach Jeff:Great job on the Half!!!
GNR1:Great job on the half last week.
Bruin1996:Nice week! Great racing!!!
I'll try to get the rest tomorrow.

@drcrusher - thanks for the thoughts - what race are you prepping for?
Philly in a little more than two weeks.
Not that this rises to the level of injury or getting hit by a car (yikes darkwave! glad you are mostly OK!) but I was brought down with a cold Wednesday night and have skipped running the last two days. Better now than in two weeks, but .... still.
Quick drive-by to wish the Indy crew good luck tomorrow!
Dropped out of my 50 milers after 36 miles last Saturday. Didn't want it bad enough to struggle through the final 14 miles. Learned a few lessons. Easy. Go out REALLY easy. Struggling for 25 miles is not ideal. Food and water. Lots of food and water. Had planed to eat early and often, but didn't exactly execute.
In reality, 20 days post marathon this wasn't the best idea. I knew that and went for it anyway. When the struggle bus came, and came hard, I felt at peace letting myself off the hook. That said, NEVER want to do it again.
I wonder if the pavement was the main issue here, as it is much nicer to run on trails for that length. How fast did you go out? How little calories or water are we talking?

A real cross country course! Ran it once for a D2 regional meet when I was pretending to still be in college.
RGMW - Can’t blame you for not finishing, and it’s good you got something out of it. Took me a while to learn how to fuel for a marathon, but this has to be a whole different beast.
To BHViking’s question about if it’s possible to feel strong at the end of a marathon, I think in some ways yes, but can’t imagine it for a 50 miler.

Hey - wanted to wish each of you great races, and sorry I won't be able to meet you in person (of course, I've already met RRR). Have wonderful runs on Saturday! It really looks primed for a fast day.
For those who have asked, thanks for your concern. A friend who is a PT worked some connections and got me seen yesterday in the office of a friend of hers, who is one of the team physicians for the US Women's National Soccer Team and a shoulder specialist (I saw his PA, not him, but she was very good). The same friend also gave me a rehab program.
Verdict is nothing broken, and looks like probably nothing torn at this point - not only was I very lucky with the accident as a whole, but also with the damage to my left shoulder (which took the brunt of the impact with first the truck and then the ground.
Right now, there's just a ton of swelling and fluid in the shoulder which is impeding the movement of the shoulder - the hope is that icing and time will bring that down. I'm also doing gentle exercises with the shoulder to open up and preserve the range of motion.
I took yesterday completely off other than some walking and shoulder exercises in a shallow water therapy pool, but did some "running" on the gym arc-trainer this morning. Mostly with my hands clasped in a fist and pressed to my chest, but I also did a few one minute segments of gently swinging my arms in a small range of motion that had no discomfort within that small range.
Other than the shoulder, everything is primed and ready to go. These legs want to run. And the trajectory of the shoulder is promising, given that's it's been just 2 days. With 8 days to go to Richmond, I'm hopeful I'll be able to race there. I have a follow-up appointment next Thursday morning at which I'm hopeful I'll be cleared to race Richmond. If it's not quite pain-free, I may ask for a cortisone shot. I normally would never get those, but I think this is the rare situation where one is appropriate. (I wouldn't get it if I was trying to do a swim with the shoulder).
I already have a hotel down there (lucked out) and can register at the expo. So a lot of positives.
Selfishly hoping the Indy crew will generate a lot of good vibes tomorrow that I can harvest.
Darkwave, you are bulletproof. Nothing phases you. I hope that shoulder gets right in time. :)
darkwave - Wow, you got a hotel room? Where? Mine is outrageously expensive.

Prefer not to publicly post where I am staying for personal safety reasons (you understand), but...it's a very good location. I lucked out.
A friend of mine who is injured reserved a hotel for Richmond a LONG time ago. When I started polling friends to see if anything was available, it reminded him that he had never gotten around to cancelling his room. So....
[and even better is that the cancellation date for the hotel is AFTER my follow-up appt with the ortho]
Richmond and me might just be kismet.
Serious lack of JUNK bands at this expo. 3 stars.

Wow. That is awful.
Indy crew - You all know what to do tomorrow. Run smart. Run brave. And above all else, DBAP. I am hoping to see 1:15:xx, 1:19:xx, 2:28:xx, and 2:39:xx tomorrow.
darkwave - Your situation sounds way more promising than it initially did. I’m still in shock. If you somehow pull off Richmond AND run 2:55:xx, I’m sorry Sub 6:00 and JQ, she’ll earn performance of the year.
drcrusher - I am sure this sudden drop in temperature isn’t doing your illness any favors but I sure hope you are feeling better. I know it’s never fun to be sidelined but it’s way better to get it now than the week of Philly.
RGMW - Thanks for reporting in. Glad you are okay. Honestly, I can’t imagine running 36 miles for the entire week that soon after a marathon PR. No shame in your performance. Some insanity or naïveté maybe, but no shame.

Indy Crew - he's already dismissing us as viable candidates for performance of the year. Prove him wrong!

I missed the part where you guys got hit by a truck last week before your race...
In all seriousness, each of you certainly could be viable candidates for performance of the year. You would just be relinquishing that title if darkwave pulled off a 2:55:xx or better at Richmond. Ultimate demonstration of DBAP...
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
