The world record is 64:51. Sifan Hassan's pb is 65:15. Fancy Chemutai has run 64:52.
The rabbits are taking Hassan out 3:04 per km pace. A 30:40 10k converts to 64:42..
The race is at 9 am locally in Valencia. Daylight saving s ends in Europe on Sunday night so that should be 4 am ET here. They race will be broadcast on tv so I assume there will be a live stream.

Huge bonus for a WR.
Organisers are offering a €70,000 (US$ 77,700) world record bonus on top of an additional €30,000 (US$ 33,300) bonus for landmark performances, sub 58:00 for men and sub-1:04:30 for women. -
If she doesn’t do it she probably never will. This is her shot, shape of her life.
Say what you like about Salazar but he is a wonder coach and the athletes will be lost without him. None of them will run as well as they have this year again -

Some will. Certainly the younger athletes coached by Julian like Brazier and Koko will further improve, I am pretty sure about that. They are so talented and at 22 one will improve unless hampered by injuries are extraordinarily bad coaching.
I wouldn't write off Hassan and Kejelcha either but I think that Hassan is stronger on track than on the road, she might actually break the 1500m world record next season . It seems that in Doha the only one affected by the ban was Murphy, so I am not sure about him, because overall he still ran a pretty good season. And of course Rupp and also Hasay were closer to Salazar than any of the others and might be more affected. -
I don't see how she doesn't get it. I say 64:35.
-
Can Huddle lower her AR? Assume she will wear the Saucony version of the %s.

I meant Salazars group really. Time will tell I suppose -
If she's wearing the latest Vaporfly shoes, she will.

Please Rojo, don't do this every time someone talks about a world record attempt. They shouldn't talk until the race is over and you shouldn't cater to the hype.
-
Rojo started a different thread asking if WR would go down and for some reason it's been deleted. Personally, I don't see how she doesn't get the WR, especially with Fancy in the race and a male pacemaker. I'm calling 64:35.

Good to see you back on Letsrun, Mitt. -
I asked Rojo to delete his thread. I don't know if that had anything to do with it now gone missing. Anyway , it's different to have an organic thread like this then it is to take an athletes announcement that they are going for a record and hype from there. That gets old fast.

She could get everyrecord from 1500 to the half .

Back up again. Took it down for maintenance (misspelling ‘going’) but then put it up the same again. -
lol... the very best female distance runner in the world is racing till her heart pops for $100,000; chump change. Meanwhile rookie NBA players are going to make $838,464 this season. This sport is a joke lol..!

You're right! The NBA actually has large number of people who PAY $$ to attend games, watch games on TV (ad supported) and purchase merchandise. If T&F/Road racing had paying fans, then the athletes would make more. I'm surprised they make as much as they do as I don't see how the ROI is justified paying that much for a half marathon that few people will even know happens. -

Thank you so much for your service. Of course, an easier route would be to just not read it.
