This was a cool video. The toxicity on this site is really getting tiresome.

Very cool video. The guy has the personality for media. Don't know why the IAAF doesn't use him instead of saddling us with the usual grey characters. So many missed opportunities.
Interesting take there, pal wrote:

So racism, sexism, antisemitism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia is all cool with you but if someone thinks nick is an attention whore, that crosses the line for you?
Deal with the rudeness when you see it.
If you are so keen to comment on all those important outrages, don't bother coming here.
puts it in perspective. 2:50 per k for a marathon is insane even with trampoline shoes, laser marks, and 41 pacers.

His personality is too unpredictable for media. You need grey or the sjw’s will flip out over every other thing he says.
This makes me so curious about fitness/talent/training.
The 2:15 opener should, from my experience, be totally effortless for him. Even if he is totally sedentary.
I’ve got a 154 800 PB, am 4 years older than Nick, and could now beat him in a 1k/mile.
It’s just weird.

Contrast with Leer is stark. I'm telling you, some people are just made for cameras.
320k views in a day. Dang. Good job Nick!

Yep.
You have a dying sport and one guy with personality (and a track record) tries to enthuse the crowd and we get a bunch of wankers on here panning his efforts.
What a great video, thank you for posting. Makes me appreciate all over again how fast Kipchoge really is.

That is a good point. I suspect that Symmonds is doing a lot of sprint training, and isn’t training the slower muscle fibers. So he can run a 1:59 800 meters, but a 2:50 1K is very hard. The muscle fibers for the slower, more controlled, effort are just not very fit right now.
I ran into Nick several years ago at the portland airport and even though i am 30 years older i figured i would strike up a conversation. He could not have been more congenial. Tried same thing with frank shorter in hawaii and received an icy stare, which i can understand, i am sure i would get tired of being approached by strangers. Nick certainly made a fan out of me
Great video. Really puts Kipchoge's feat in perspective.

He hit over 200 HR in this run, which is crazy for a 35-year old. It means his blood volume is incredibly low at the moment.
His max HR when he was super fit with high blood volume was probably lower than 180. These days, his heart just has to bump SOOO many times to distribute the little blood he still has left compared to his prime days where he did lots of aerobic conditioning.
His anaerobic system is now very weak too - he did 59-60 in his 800, if his anaerobic system would still be great he could have went out much faster.
Just goes to show again how overrated talent is, without training he is just another average Joe. What made him good was love for the sport and the consistent striving for perfection and steady diet of mileage and speed. Yes, not everyone can be a 1:42 guy, but many people can be MUCH faster than they are if they would only put in 10 years of good, progressive, highest-quality training.

It’s very important to be offended as often as possible. LOL
Surprising to see how someone can go from world class to high school varsity level. And he’s still active and in good shape in terms of a normal person not a professional athlete.
I wonder how much he is making from that video...
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
