Yes pretty awesome story, but as I saw on a post here the other day he didn't actually pay to run the race, so that part is a little less awesome...
Oh god. I hope I didn't inadvertently create some sort of scandal. I am in awe of what the guy did on the train but then decided to look up how he did in the race.
There is no Jean-Paul LaPierre in the results.
Help me out LRC sleuths.
His form of stealing is okay, because he prevented someone else from stealing something.

Isn't that Rupp in the video?

The previous thread on LR already mentioned that he was a bandit, and the news piece was open about that fact. The race organizers already responded to the whole thing saying that what he did was cool, but that they don't support banditing.

Actually it is more awesome. Every year the Chicago marathon organizers invite a whole load of athletes from overseas who are doping along with their corrupt managers and coaches. None of these "elite" athletes pay any entry fees and to make things worse the race organizers then go and hand over a pile of cash to these juiced up runners having already paid for their accommodation! Kenya and Ethiopia should have been banned from international races some time ago for their growing pile positive doping tests and yet the Chicago marathon organizers keep on facilitating what is organized crime on the streets of America. This is a disgrace and this American hero who tackled robbers on American public transportation has made a very illustrative point to the organizers of the Chicago marathon race by banditing their race. Why should he pay an entry fee which goes to partly to funding organized crime in international track and field?
I'm shocked you didn't already delete my original thread.

Congratulations!!! You have won the Roy Firestone award of the week!!
Yup.
On the rare days vehicles are banned from some public streets, why should pedestrians have to pay to use them?
Did he use cheaterfly's to disarm him?
Local Boston media went nuts on this guy as hes been involved in several other "heroic" events, as he considers himself a Batman-like charachter.
A delve into his "real" past may be surprising...

How is this in any way a "blue collar" story?

Yeah, something smells fishy here. Are all these "heroic" events staged by him for the publicity, paying some smuck that's in on it? My BS-meters are tingling, Batman!

Hmm, whatever happened to the alleged "attackers" in the Jussie Smollett incident? Still in Chicago?
And it's "schmuck," Yiddish for a foolish or contemptible person.
