So far this year we had:
-Kipchoge finally ran sub 2 (1:59:40 at the INEOS 1:59 Challenge)
-Bekele ran a 2:01:41 to win Berlin, two seconds off Kipchoge's official WR (making sub 2 seem less "impossible")
-Donavan Brazier won the WC 800m in an AR (1:42.34)
-Sifan Hassan ran the mile WR, doubled the 1500m/10000m at the WC, and closed a 10000m with a 3:59 1500m
-Dalilah Muhammad breaks her own WR in the 400m hurdles in the WC final, prodigy Sydney McLaughlin 2nd
-A 18/19 Year old Norweigan being a threat for a WC title in the 1500m and 5000m
-Caster Semenya leaves competitive running to play soccer due to testosterone bans
-The NCAA having it's first out transgender XC runner compete at a D1 level
-Brigid Kosgei basically ran two world records (1:04:28 unofficial half marathon / Official 2:14:04 at Chicago Marathon)
-Paula's Marathon WR has been taken down
-NOP disbanding and Salazar getting banned, with two of his proteges dropping out of the Chicago Marathon (Rupp and Hasay) shortly afterward.
Feel free to add any other events that have happened so far that you think made this year entertaining in Athletics.
