Some stats 6' 3" 155lbs.
Okay I started running in the beginning of this year and off of 4 months of somewhat inconsistent training of 20-30mpw I ran an 11:10 3200 so I thought I had at least some talent and joined xc. I ran a consistent 35 mpw the entire summer and the week before school started I knocked out a 3mi tempo in 18:25 and It definitely felt like a tempo and not a race so I was pretty hyped that I was going to be able to approach 17:20-30 5k once workouts started. I started my season by getting sick and had to take a couple days off and then ran my first race in 19:10 since then I haven't improved barely (I ran an 18:50 in the 4th week of the season with that being my best race) at all and having been feeling pretty terrible in races (but feel ok in workouts and some easy runs) I have also noticed my resting heart rate is way higher than summer. Today we had our conference meet and I ran absolutely awful (19:21) and no I didn't go out to fast my first mile was 5:58. 3 people on my team beat me team that have never beat and absolutely could not have touched me in the shape I was in during our summer workouts. What is wrong with me I'm really just looking forward to this season to be over (I have districts next week where I've recently been moved to the JV race so that'll probably be the last race of the season for me) I don't know if I'm anemic but I'm getting a blood test next week to rule it out if that's the case. Also I don't think my easy runs are too fast they're usually in the 8min +/- 20sec range.
