This is a brilliant article which puts into more eloquent words all my thoughts on this issue.
From the other end of the political spectrum, the Daily Mail is doing a similarly good job in highlighting the untenable positions of Cram, Radcliffe, Coe, UK Athletics and the BBC.

You always act like the majority of letsrunners are only out to get Kenyans and their opinions are racially motivated. Anyone who has been paying attention here knows that's not true, but you see only what you want to see.
^But it's not just letsrunners.
Possibly the single biggest institutional problem faced by track and field is Sebastian Coe.

I did in another thread.
Great article. Thanks for posting this. I was thinking of how to phrase my reaction, but this author really nailed it. “You’re the GOAT.... as long as you don’t get caught. “
Who let this fake Kenyan clown back on the site?
El K - where are the Kenyan XC Trials photos? Post them, please. You WERE there, right? I mean, you were surely there as you said.

I often... don’t agree with you. However, with this response by you I tip my hat - very funny.

The BBC are a nauseating bunch of hypocrits - snide remarks about Makhloufi but of course no reason to doubt the NOP athletes.

I don’t think you can lump all those names together. They are in different positions and haven’t all reacted in the same way.
I have been very disappointed with the reaction of the BBC and the hypocrisy of some of their presenters, Radcliffe, Cram and Johnson in particular. There has been the odd sly remark about Makhloufi and others, yet no mention of the fact that numerous other athletes that have been competing in finals are Salazar trained! The double standards continued with a 20min documentary and love fest for Linford Christie during one broadcast. Cram and Radcliffe in particular, who are employed to be impartial but to give balanced points of view, were quick to downplay the findings of USADA re Salazar’s behaviour. Radcliffe, the doyen of fair play and outing cheats a few years ago, seems to have taken a complete volte face on the issue of punishing convicted dopers.
Johnson’s views haven’t been much better. He is so biased towards American athletes and always downplays those caught doping or who have infringed doping rules, backing the various excuses and loopholes that got them off on technicalities. His comments the day after, re Norman’s ‘jog’ in the 400 semi, were hardly convincing; i.e. he didn’t ‘feel right’ and thought something bad would happen!?!
The criticism of Coe, however, is not as warranted on the issue of Salazar. He is the President of the IAAF, and as such needs to temper what he says on such issues, and deal with facts. He hasn’t the same remit as journalists and presenters. His position, as he has often alluded to, is to look after the welfare of the athletes. He has to be careful what to say in his position, for fear of being accused of bias or raise grounds for litigation. To make some huge announcement at a conference in the middle of a World Championships, detracting attention away from competing athletes, would be totally the wrong thing to do. I’m sure there will be opportunities in the coming weeks and months for him to make the necessary comments required.
Coe has backed the findings on Salazar’s behaviour and retracted his accreditation and pass immediately. He also, in his role as IAAF President, did what anyone in his position should do; I.e. reassured the athletes in Salazar’s care that they will be taken care of and that people shouldn’t tarnish their performances at the Champs. To say anything to the contrary would be outrageous. He is not a tabloid journalist and he is not in the role or speculation. He will, of course, monitor this NOP athletes more closely and test them more robustly in the coming months, something already alluded to by Bach at the IOC. He (Coe) has no business to spell that out to the press ! Not at this point at least.
It should be remembered that In spite of many claims on here, Coe is not a Nike ambassador, having severed all ties with them in 2015.
Cram and Radcliffe are still both ambassadors for Nike, and on their payroll.
The BBC and Coe are not amicable bedfellows at the moment, either, as the lack of any interviews that usually take place during the course of a championship clearly testifies, so to lump them altogether is not fair or helpful.
Radcliffe has downplayed the ‘guilt’ of Salazar, Cram has spoken at length about Farah not being tarnished or at least being suspicious over his long term connection with the NOP. Coe backed the findings of Salazar, enforced the ban and said that the athletes shouldn’t be tarnished based on the findings. That doesn’t mean they won’t be scrutinised in the future or that retroactive testing won’t happen.
The 3 are not singing from the same hymn sheet.
track is so filthy and rotten at moment .
and all largely stems from agents in britain .
bunch of fakers and actors protecting their legacy .
time might be up and will never get to see just how filthy it has become along with other sports
like european soccer and teams like liverpool etc doped to gills on the speed peptide .
need to protect their illusion and cash cow in football never mind track .
bunch of rats and traitors .
They are a business; the same hymn sheet they all sing from is "don't damage the firm". The athletes are the "product". Honesty about the seriousness of the doping problem would do exactly that - so the powers-that-be veer away from it as much as they can. If an East German coach or doctor was found to have been involved in doping practices (we know they were) the question would have immediately turned to their athletes. We know now what that was all about. When an athlete dopes we tend not to look any further than the athlete, but when a coach is caught the ripples in the pond will inevitably be wider. The coach isn't doping for himself. When those who are the face of the sport don't acknowledge that, can they be trusted to do anything to fix it? Business trumps ethics.

Tough comparisons being assumed - I mean you got Mo hanging with Jama and his hundreds of vials of EPO but his time with Salazar and that L- carnitine that’s what put him over the top.
Look the reality is the fact that Salazar is getting punished for marginal sins is a good sign that USADA is doing there job, but it shows just how far behind other agencies are.
I mean look at the Florida/Jamaican HS sprinter Williams busted red handed with what appears to be pre-planned excuse and Jamaica does literally nothing.
