Correct.
Wow, Strava hates women. I just deleted my account, and I suggest everyone else do the same. There are so many free running apps, why support one that hates women?
People get offended about the fact that women's sports have lower ratings on TV than men's. How is that offensive? It is merely objective. They perform at a lower level.
Wait that's about transgender women - we already hate them on LRC.
I searched for images, I listened his voice. He is definitely not a woman. I love women, but he is not one of them. It is over tolerant and discriminating women, that they have to fight with a male for medals! What a shame for mankind!!!

+1
just had to change one little detail
Ah, that explains it. I used to watch some of these strava races and her name was always on the top of the list. She disappear up the road and win by 3 minutes in a 20 minute race.
I don't know how that is going to be policed though. People cheat like heck on strava. The only time it evens up is in some national comp where they all have to appear in the studio.
So who cares? Its a game ap. I love it.

You're thinking of Zwift.
This does not surprise me. Strava is sexist in a thousand small ways, and it is dominantly used by men. About 80% of Strava uploads are by men:

Therefore, it doesn't surprise me they're using their platform to advocate for a transgender female with an unfair advantage rather than actual women.
Agreed.. wrote:

That's racist

Are you kidding? where did you see woman in this story? It is about transgender! Let transgenders, bisexuals, assexuals, transsexuals, third gender, null gender make their own sports. It is just not fair for transgender to compete NORMAL women, because of hormones and other staff.
You're making this overly complicated.
Male and female. That's it.
Maybe there is some extremely small fraction of humanity that is born with two heads or a third eye, but none of that counts with respect to what we're talking about.
Where is their category....

Yup, like I said there are some rare freak occurrences, but that doesn't change anything in terms of how things are handled.
honestly the fact that this makes the homepage... by choice of the admins is why I never recommend this place to anyone, nor take it seriously
shame

Hm we are all humans. why make up some arbitrary categories?

Why shouldn't this make the home page? It's an important issue for women in sports. Sure, the Brojos seem to lean conservative (I don't), and the site (especially the boards) can be a hotbed of racism and misogyny, but this is one of the few places I've seen truthful reporting on the Semenya situation and questions about transwomen competing in the women's category.
The average person has no idea how much biological sex impacts athletic performance, and companies like Strava are all to happy to virtual signal for profit. I've had people with PhDs tell me that they think sports participation ought to be based on gender identity, rather than biological sex. And Rachel McKinnon uses her professorship to research herself, all the while bullying biological females who question the fairness of competing against somebody who lived as a man for 30 years (with 30 years of male-levels of testosterone). This is garden variety misogyny masquerading as social justice, and it's being perpetrated by a relatively privileged person claiming to be oppressed. This kind of behavior is going to spark backlash against trans people, more broadly, many of whom want basic civil rights but do not support the inclusion of transwomen in women's sports categories.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
