I read the study wrote:
The study has limitations, including the fact that it is based on self-reporting, and that not all participants answered questions in 2010.The study also mainly involved white people living in the UK, so it is not clear whether the results would hold in other populations.
Dr Frankie Phillips, a dietitian from the British Dietetic Association, said vegetarians and vegans should not be alarmed by the results, stressing that the study does not show cause and effect.
Instead, Phillips said, everyone could benefit from eating more plants. “That doesn’t necessarily mean becoming completely vegan or vegetarian,” she said, adding that having a wide range of foods in the diet ensured it provided all the necessary nutrients.
Haha veggies have been using BS study formulation and stat-manipulation for decades, and now the shoe is on the other foot: "Don't worry! The Man Behind Curtain says that plants are there only for our benefit and plant-based is good good, meat is bad bad!"
I am the only poster on this board who has tried BOTH vegan/vegetarian for over a decade (as a young athlete) AND keto/carnivore for five years (as an older athlete), and my results are unequivocal. Dozens of long-ter chronic ailments and injuries GONE GONE thanks to eating primarily meat. Humans are facultative carnivores that can SURVIVE for months or years on plants alone, or THRIVE for a lifetime on animal products alone. How you formulate your own diet is a matter of personal choice; that is the perogative of modern food production and distribution. Most will fail with diet just as most runners fail to figure out the keys to performance, health and longevity.
