Where did you find that he is running Berlin? That would be epic to see. I'm literally dying to see him destroy everyone again.

OMG this is the best news I've heard in a long time - https://www.nnrunningteam.com/en/2019/09/03/team-building/. I can't wait to see him. It sounds like he has finally addressed the issues which have stopped him running the way he should be running. I'm glad that he has the proper support to get back on track. He has literally been reconstructed now. He should win Berlin and then go for London again next year. By the time the Olympics come next year he should be in a possible a gold medal if he continues getting the support and good training and physio therapy he has been getting for the past few months.

"Alongside the injury issues it was clear that Kenenisa has also arrived in Nijmegen overweight and this was leading to greater stress on the body."
Lol, there were always jokes about this here, but now it's official. This also means he ran 2:03:03 overweight, proves another time he's the GOAT.

Anyone know how fast he needs to run to get into the Ethiopian Olympic squad?
Bump.
This should be on the top of letsrun and the brojo's should make it Super Hot on Letsrun today. The end of this month is going to be epic. Christmas has literally come 3 months early
So one can get a stress fracture in his femur?
If NN running team make this announcement, we can hope they know he really got in shape this time, and stayed fit even after returning home. The WR has got quite harder to reach now, but he will also benefit from trampoline shoes. On the other hand, if he does not perform well in Berlin, it will be hard to keep hope.

Wit Kipchoge not in Berlin, the race should be "tactical", AKA not a world record attempt. If he wins there and then can win another MM in the spring (Tokyo or Boston) then I think he has to be on the team. Of he does London Kipchoge will beat him but a strong second there would also show him worthy of the team.
Most of the top Ethiopian marathoners have not been consistent (outside of Katata) so I think there are 2 open spots. Right now the front runners for those spots have to be 2-3 in London, Adola if he can show good form again, and Bekele.
Fastest Ethopian till now in 2019
Mosinet Geremew 2:02:55 London marathon
Mule wasihun 2:03:16 London marathon
Geteneh Milla 2:03:34 Dubai marathon
Herpassa Negasa 2:03:40 Dubai
So definitely a sub 2:04 to get in Ethopian team
My guess is dnf after running most of the race at world record pace or drop out early after falling off the leaders.
who?
Exactly

2nd to Kipchoge
I wonder what bekele couldve run in his prime. any guesses? 203 flat when a shadow of his former self is ridiculous
Banana Bread has creamed in his skinny jeans at this news.

The GOAT would have run 2:01.38 in his prime
He's only 3yrs older than Kipchoge. There's still hope. ?
This is fanciful (bordering on farcical) but can you imagine if Bekele can truly regain long term form?
How exciting would it be if we were in store for an olympic matchup between two healthy and well trained superstars like Kipchoge and Bekele? Maybe even other races if they didn't dodge eachother?
What if...
Bekele manages to set the WR in Berlin 19 or London 20?
Bekele wins the 2020 Tokyo olympics over Eliud?
