By the time you are 40 your lifestyle should not be negatively impacted by being out of work for a year. If it is then you did things wrong in your twenties and thirties.

She probably gets on to him for his grammatical errors too.
OP is surprised to learn most women are unwilling to date judgmental misers with significant emotional baggage?
4. That the OP isnt seeing things accurately. He kind of has a victim mentality to where it is always the women's fault. Tons of blame on them, while he is the financially stable, humble guy who is just misunderstood.
A few people have wisely mentioned that you look inside yourself.
The way you are perceiving these women. The women you attract. Or..how you act are all things you might want to explore.
Welp. The more the OP talks, the more it sounds like a "you" problem than a woman he dates problem.

Do you and least own it?
If you knew anything about personal finance and investing you would not be surprised. Educate yourself before chiming in.

You write that as if most financially savvy people don’t own the home they live in.
Yes, the down payment is an opportunity cost that could be invested elsewhere but reduces mortgage insurance which is a lost cost.
The biggest variable is time.
Renting is good short term.
Owning is better long term. It takes a while to build equity on the mortgage but that accelerates each year.
OP,
You sound like you are doing just fine.
I was raised in a frugal household and that carried over for sure. I was judged harshly by women for years and I almost fell into the trap of buying things “just to keep up”
Just better yourself like you’ve been doing and don’t worry about the gold diggers. I work with a very wealthy population and they are usually miserable mean entities. You’ll find a girl who realizes happiness is inside.
Sometimes it takes them time to figure that out, but most never do.
You’ve got time, mountains to run, and less obligations to worry about. Simple is always better.
When you hit age 40 you will see how much better off you are than those who have the giant unaffordable house, toys and crap that fill their garage, and all the alcohol they drink to numb their empty lives. Keep on your path??
There is a line between frugal and cheap which I struggle with, but you seem to understand that.
Go run your mountain and enjoy ⛰.that’s something these money hungry girls will never be able to do with their credit cards and Starbucks habit.

Not all the time. It depends on the cost to rent and the cost to own.
The basic rule is: If the cost to buy is 20 or more times more than the annual rent cost, makes sense to rent. If the cost to buy is 16 or less times the annual rent cost, makes sense to buy.
EG, If a house costs 500K to buy, but is 1500/month to rent, 1500*12 = 18,000. 500,000/18,000 = 27.8. So in that case it makes more sense to rent.
Renting can be cheaper since you can invest your financial savings. Houses only appreciate about 0.5% after inflation on average (Schiller found that out), so if the fed inflation target is 2%, Houses make about 2.5%. Plus you have to pay for maintenance, and a bunch of other fees rentals don't always have, like property taxes. Financial investments yield 7% on average. So if you crunch the numbers, renting comes out ahead in a lot of cases. Again, it depends on the market at hand.
I say kudos to the OP for saving. It's something that is very rare in society now. I am much like them, except I have a few quality musical instruments, and our kitchenware is high end because I hate cooking with garbage equipment that just wears out all the time anyway. Makes more sense to buy some high end stuff that will last a long, long time - maybe our entire lives. Find a girl who understands money and she will respect it. I did.
Its not bad that you live that style but the way you do it all, it shows you only care about yourself. My dude!!!!!!!
Maybe it's been said, but the reason you're being judged HARD is because you're living "way beneath" your means. How about you live slightly beneath, which is still well within your means? The judgement comes because you lack balance and that makes you unattractive. That's life.
So save all your money keep living well beneath your means and be happy because you have a couch and don't need anything else. Except of course you're complaining because in fact you don't have everything you want. You don't have a woman who admires you because you live like you're practically homeless. Keep up the act and one day when you're ready to start living you'll find someone who thinks you're worth being around.
To use a popular letsrun phrase, you jumped the shark with that post. You are clearly a TROLL. You started off well but then lost it. I had to deduct points for the last troll post.
You are down to 2/10
Some girls give me money
Some girls buy me clothes
Some girls give me jewelry
That I never thought I'd own
Some girls give me diamonds
Some girls, heart attacks
Some girls I give all my bread to
I don't ever want it back
Some girls give me jewelry
Others buy me clothes
Some girls give me children
I never asked them for
So give me all your money
Give me all your gold
I'll buy you a house at Zuma beach
I'll give you half of what I own
Some girls take my money
Some girls take my clothes
Some girls get the shirt off my back
And leave me with a lethal dose
Yeah French girls they want Cartier
Italian girls want cars
American girls want everything in the world
You can possibly imagine
English girls they're so prissy
I can't stand them on the telephone
Sometimes I take the receiver off the hook
I don't want them to ever call at all
White girls they're pretty funny
Sometimes they drive me mad
Black girls just wanna get fucked all night
I just don't have that much jam
Chinese girls are so gentle
They're really such a tease
You never know quite what they're cookin'
Inside those silky sleeves
Give me all your money
Give me all your gold
I'll buy you a house at Zuma beach
I'll give you half of what I own
Yeah baby why don't you please come home
Some girls they're so pure
Some girls so corrupt
Some girls give me children
I only made love to her once
Give me half your money
Give me half your car
Give me half of everything
I'll make you world's biggest star
So gimme all your money
Give me all your gold
Let's go back to Zuma beach
I'll give you half of everything I own

The reactions you describe will continue throughout life. My wife and I have lived well with travel and 'decent' houses and cars but significantly below what friends and relatives figure we should have given our education and work. We are now retired relatively early, despite having two college educations yet to finance but the head scratching by folks we know still continues. But, I would recommend against living totally for tomorrow. Save where you can but live a bit. Travel in the off season. Buy the used but pampered sports car. Find the older house with character that needs a bit of work in an area without massive property taxes. You get the idea.
RoZay has a good verse here
Got on on all my ice
Talking cash sh*t
Been ballin all my life
Lamborghinis fast whips
She down to ride
And deserves a boss who down to provide
We run the streets but on G5’s, I’m talking fly
Boots and blue jeans, Cartier newer rings
You with the big boy so we do the big things
Had to Valet park it
Chanel hoody on
Lookin like Treyvon Martin
George Zimmerman I’m wanted
She on my wanted poster, cirroc in my mimosa
Im balling like Lebron
we shopping in Milan
Elaborate. Give some arguments against my points.
Women score more liberal too

Are there any women who understand the concept of living humbly?
I am a woman and I live humbly.
I take the bike or the bus to work at a university because it would be ridiculous to pay for a parking pass even though I could afford it. I also think it is crazy how many people drink Starbucks coffee every day. When you think about that- that adds up to over $1,000 a year for coffee! I only go to Starbucks if I happen to have a gift card because I really don't feel like spending $3+ for a coffee.
My bf and I also live in a small 1 bedroom apartment even though we could probably afford something bigger. But there is no reason to live in a bigger apartment. It is big enough for us and we like it.

The PhD women I've dated have all gotten angry and insecure once they found out I'm smarter than them and don't care about formal academic credentials. They have a bit of an existential crisis when they find out formal academic credentials do not equal IQ and that some people don't care they wasted 6 years of their life to write a paper no one will ever read.
What? None of the 'PhD' women you have dated prostrated themselves at your feet in anticipation of you gracing them with your superior intellect? You sound like a real hoot.
Money is totally a favorite topic of mine. I’m a saver — and female of all things — but it seems to be a fairly rare trait in both genders. I don’t necessarily think it’s fair to say that women are worse with money, than men, unless I saw some pretty clear patterns pointed out to me — rather than ONLY the stereotypes and generalizations that are mentioned here.
One thing that stands out to me, is that you probably cannot hope to meet a spender, and change their ways. You have to find people with a frugal mindset, to begin with, and then vibe off of one another and combine forces to be ideally even stronger with money.
To be honest, I would not combine forces with somebody who couldn’t contribute to the overall plan of being smart with money and working toward financial independence. I wonder why you would screen in women who show no signs of being smart with money? Screen them out, out, out!
You’ve got to somehow understand that there are always folks — male and female — who believe that life is not worth living, if they cannot piss away their money on restaurant food, overpriced cell phones and an endless parade of status symbols. These people are best left to their own devices. They make their bed, and they should be the one to lie in it. These people will be like dragging an anchor, if you happen to invite them into your life, or try to win their approval. Toxic.
Also, I’m not sure why being frugal is immediately characterized like Scrooge McDuck, like being good with money, means that we are darning socks by candlelight and saving margarine tubs to give as Christmas gifts? Normal high-wealth people might frugalize on things that don’t matter to them, like going out to restaurants or driving a posh car, while making financial room for other things, like having a dog, or doing some house upgrades — all while maintaining a healthy savings rate.
A good thing, right?
