I wish him well and respect the hell out of his career, but the 'thon is just not his distance.
He has (had) a shot at the AR in the half, however, in addition to all his other accomplishments.
Super talented 5K through half runner

Olympic Trials have actually just been granted a Gold Label designation meaning that standards don't matter anymore. The top 3 on that day, regardless of time, will represent USA in Tokyo

Thank you sir!

Is this now confirmed for the men’s race as well as the women’s?

Ritz would have run this race in 62 minutes in his prime. The Olympic Trials will either be a no-show due to injury, a drop out at 18 miles way out of contention or a 2:15 finish for 12th. Sadly he is toast!
And you are soft doughy wonder bread, I'm sure he gives a rats ass what you think.

I ran the half this morning and it was fairly hot and humid. This really isn’t that fast of a course. On a sidenote, they sent the lead 10k Runner’s the wrong way ? and cancelled the 5k the night before. Rock N’Roll did not have a great weekend and Ritz saved them.
This Does not surprise me ? haha rock n roll baby ?!!!!
If Ritz gets to the starting line in Atlanta healthy, he makes the team.

Ritz didn't need to run any faster to win. Instead he got paid for a marathon pace workout, and probably didn't need to back off on training to do it. Seems pretty smart to me.
I ran the race on Sunday. Like others said, weather was 70F with ~90% humidity at the start. Despite those conditions, it did not feel terribly hot until about 7:20 (6:30 start time), since that is when the sun came out. Before the race he was planning on running the Chicago Marathon. Now that the US Marathon Trials is a Gold Label race, there is no need to get the standard. On the one hand, he has been training for Chicago so it would make sense to follow through his original plan. However, with his injury history, it may not be wise to do Chicago and do the trials in Atlanta 4 months later in February. Best of luck to Ritz, he looked strong when I saw him (only for the first 400m), really asserted himself early in the race. I think if he's on his game in Atlanta, he can be a threat to make the team.

I'm thinking you're right. Ritz, Rupp, and one other guy who has his best day that day.
Truth be told, I've now got 2 $300 bets from fellow runners in Michigan, I'm all in on Dathan! He's had some very bad luck, but the stars will align come February 29th, 2020.
I think you are going to win those bets, I really do.

Agree as well. He's throwing everything and the kitchen sink into his efforts to make this team. I don't know if I'd be brave enough to bet $300, but...I'm think he's got a solid chance, not an outside chance. Run you rascal rabbit Ritzenhein!
