Can you believe that?
I thought pro runners were nuts for sleeping up to 10 hours a night.

I sleep that long sometimes.

Only people with simple minds can sleep that long.
It isn't possible to sleep 12 hours per night because night is not 12 hours long. At least some of that sleep must be taking place in the evening and/or morning.
10 hours overnight with a 2 hour daily nap seems more likely than 12 straight hours.
while he is RF, his wife is surely making a significant sacrifice of taking care of the domestic duties. She probably has hired help but RF is probably exercising or practicing during the day which doesn't leave much time to help with the children etc.
Champions make sacrifices I guess, but the wife seems truly supportive!
Drugs? Ambien?

They probably have about 3 nannies, a chef, 4 housekeepers and a driver. She may not even need to wipe her own ass...

I heard he switches hemispheres twice a year so he can truly get 12 hours of darkness a day.

They probably use a bidet. Only Americans consider it sufficient to clean up post-dump by wiping a dry piece of paper on our asses.
He practices 4-5 hours a day. He spends plenty of time with his family

I'm sure she doesn't mind being a supportive wife considering she used to play tennis too and would understand the grind, but also if she wants a break from family duties she can hop in the car and get a 5-10k shopping break lol, which is pennies to her dollar.

On the flip side, they are absolutely fucking loaded.
Anybody know how to get that much sleep a night? Some less known tricks? guess it’s because I always loathe having to go to an office the next morning... but I usually can never get more than 8 hours max on a weekday night.
Sleep is so important if you are pushing your body in any way mentally, physically, etc.

This made me chuckle

They live in Switzerland. Going out and buying a pair of jeans is a $5K shopping trip.
I’ve been running about 25 years and my training suffers more when I’m not getting enough sleep versus eating a good diet. Sleep is the most important part of training and some need more to fully recover. I think Federer has obviously found what works for him
That is exactly what he does, according to the link.
Supposedly, Bolt set a WR within 35 minutes of awaking from a nap!
I'd sleep well if I woke up each morning with an additional $83,000 in my bank account like he does. (His $300 million sponsorship contract with Uniqlo works out to $83,000 a day, every day, for 10 years straight, for doing next to nothing).
I couldn't possibly sleep for 12 hours per day under any conditions except, perhaps, when significantly ill. But as others have noted, there can't be many guys with a wife and four young children who even have the opportunity to sleep for 12 hours. I don't even have kids but a husband, dogs, and a job, not to mention running, limit my sleep time to 7-8 hours per night. It must be nice...
