Great tactical race by Gebrhiwet. Before nobody knew about him. Now he is on everybody's lips. WR holder of the fastest penultimate lap in a 5k.
Results anywhere?
Wanders must not have been that far off 7:51 (the leader's time) during his recent 5000m where he urged on the field and so wasn't much back of the 3k lead. Cheserek recently ran 1500 in just 3:38. Considering he's run 3:49i, he's probably been healthy only a short time and is just rounding into form. Expect much better in a month. Too bad he's ineligible to compete at the U.S. trials still, despite being in the country for at least 10 years now (4 years high school, 4 years college, 2? years as a pro).

There's a link on the homepage
He ran 3:37.92 in Marseilles this month, 13:08 in February and 3:53, but last year ran 3:33 enroute to 3:49 indoors and 7:38 one or two days later. His outdoor 1500 and 5000 pr's still date to 2014! (3:36.5/13:18).
At full strength, he should be able to run 3:30/12:5x, given what he did indoors last year.

I see what you are joking about, but he ran 12:47 SEVEN years ago, so yeah, I knew about him.
8 times under 13:00-flat, 31 times under 13:30 and one of those was the 5k split in a 10k. So yeah, I knew about him.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
