It's Zane Robertson not Jake.
Has Zane started other marathons and DNFed? It was 4.5 years ago that he ran that 59:47 that had everyone so pumped up about him being the next white 2:05-runner.
The guy who beat him in that 59:47 race was Paul Kuira and he has had no notable results since except a 61:17 HM on 4-23-17.
He is listed as running a 28:26 and 28:24 10,000m at age 15, and a 28:22 at age 16, 27:51 at age 17, adn 27:40 in 2011 and 2014. So he is clearly the greatest distance running talent the world has ever seen.

I'm confused by Australian time, website says the race starts in 8 hours and 40 odd minutes, which is 5 in the morning here in the us, which is AM, not PM.
Those countdown clocks don't mean anything, the start time given by Letsrun is accurate
3pm ET here, race starts in 2 hr. 20 min. A decent field at least on the Men's side, haven't looked at Women's entries yet. Hoping one of the Kenyans doesn't take it out crazy hard and thus 'stealing' the coverage with no vid of Yuki, Lagat, Robertson, etc...
Here is Brett Larner's preview of the full and half.:

Warm, humid and windy there now. Rain should end by the start.
So 61 degrees fahrenheit and 5 MPH wind is warm and windy to you? Yes, I'll give you the humidity.

94% humidity, temps in mid 60s during the race and 10mph winds. Just taking #'s off weather site. And no, not warm and windy to me, but yes, for the runners. Another anonymous poster being a jerk "alert".
what was the humidity when yuki won boston?
Can't imagine Lagat getting beat in the 45 - 49 year old age group to an older runner, but on paper, he's the underdog. Sounds like he is shooting for a 2:12, with a 1:05:30 split. Hopefully they'll have some coverage of the 2nd pack.

I suspect this is a rhetorical question but I did ask Alexa. She apologized for not knowing, but the dew point that morning in Boston was only 41, while today the runners are looking at a dew point of 60. "Did that answer your question"

alexa has dishonored you.
5 min. to the start and it's pouring rain! Wheelchairs are leaving rooster tails.
Just sang the national anthem of Australia. About to kick off, it is raining. Go Yuki!
And they are off.

Damn. Who designed that visual? A bunch of hobby joggers leading the race
Zane caught a 'flyer'! Reaction time was .0016.
Zane is going for the Oceania record?
Commentary seems to be disagreeing with you on the wind, along with the weather site. Do you have a tendency of embellishment at dinner parties?
Yuta is going with the chasing pack.
