Wow.
Ironically, there best performance of the weekend was Lopez at Princeton!

Not to mention Ahmed 4th in a strong 2 mile field.

And Quigley ran a second off her PR in her opener.
What did Lopez do?

3:37 at a low key meet, not sure where.
When you struggle to spin a bad meet, then the struggle is real.
Jager
Hill
Infeld
Etc etc etc
And for the guys who are healthy, unimpressed today.
A lot of “at least they weren’t last”
Why would they try to crush Pre Classic? No offense to a great meet but they're prepping for Worlds.. This was an opener for most of them and it was only to hit USA standards. I would say that was a pretty great meet for some rust busters. We can all come back to this thread in September to see who was correct.
And Schweizer ran a PB too.
This was a good meet for the Bowerman team.
You could say they struggled in the outdoor season until now but I thought this was strong for those who ran across the board based on expectations.
Sure it wasn't what NOP did but the NOP people haven't been MIA this year.
Worlds are still 3 months away.

Talk about a strange perception of their performances...wow. I think you're probably in the minority. NOP looked good overall today as well.

Except for Kejelcha and Murphy. The indoor record holder looked terrible. Murphy, whose future Salazar said lies in the 1500, was unimpressive. Rowbury must be out of shape or injured -- didn't even run.
They had a good day, it just wasn't exceptional.
its tough to compare this pre classic with previous pre classics... Worlds being in october ceratinly changes where world class athletes are in their buildups. I'm sure Jerry is focusing on well beyond USA's. But yeah, it's not like BTC imploded...at all.

Rowbury ran a 15:38 at the Portland Track Festival 3 weeks ago and said she was coming back from injury and was just happy to be racing. She's not ready for Diamond League action yet.

I think he re-signed with the Milwaukee Bucks!

She ran faster indoors, so an outdoor PB.

Rowbury is still coming back from her pregnancy. Not even close to fit. Kejelcha was actually told to hold back a bit because of going to Holland next week to qualify for the Ethiopian team for Doha. I think Murphy just happened to have a stinker at the wrong time.
FWIW Rowbury was at the track meet as a spectator. Did not see her talking to any NOPers though, only her husband who was carrying the baby.
Rowbury had an "NOP family picture" on her instagram a week ago or so, including the baby, so she is training/working on comeback. (Someone should tell her that she actually looks far more pleasant without the racing war paint.)

Don't forget Kate Grace's 1500 PR
