Always one of my favorite meets. I remember the 2001 Alan Webb 3:53/El G 3:49 mile like it was yesterday.
This year it will be held in Stanford instead of Oregon - but most events still feature an absolutely stacked field.
Who are you most excited to see? Predictions? Discuss.

No, winning time will be 3:49-3:52 range and Jakob will get 3rd or 5th. Engles will be back in 3:56. -
W800m.

Samba dropped out of the 400H. This is the 2nd time in a row. Beginning of the end?
-
Shubenkov wins in 12.97 then gets tripped by Daniels causing shoulder dislocation.
-
So which track is considered faster? Eugene or Stanford?
-
The women's 1500 must have gotten posted fairly recently, it looks like a great matchup: Laura Muir vs Kipyegon vs Shelby Houlihan

Major rumours swirling on this right now, along with Makwala and Arafi. -
Interested in the returns of Ayana & Kipyegon + outdoor season debut of Houlihan.
Interested to see what Kejelcha can do against a stacked field in the mile.
I’m weirdly confident that the women’s 3k will be historically fast. I think Dibaba runs an outdoor WR (excepting Chinese in ‘93) with Hassan right on her heels, as 8 women break 8:30. -

Eugene, I don't know if you've been to Stanford but that track is nothing special. Stanford just usually has better weather though so that's their appeal. Since Pre is a month later this year, it may be warmer, but that averages for late June is Palo Alto is 54/79 so if the temp is around 70 there could still be some fast times. The longest races, women's 3k and 3k steeple could be affected. -

It can't be a WR when other women have run faster.
However, she could possibly better her previous best time of 8:26. -

Are you insinuating that Dibaba's time would be the "clean" WR? Because that's just insulting. I kind of love the fact that even the most doped up East Africans can't touch that 8:06. Masterful trolling by the Chinese there.
Anyway, the mile is always the best event. A good realistic time for Jakob would be 3:51. -

And Wangs 8’06, 3000m record is ironically a supporting fact that Genzebe or any of the current outstanding 3k runners may not in fact be doping.
I would bet my house that the current top East African female runners have more talent and altitude adapted advantage than Wang. - And yet nobody can get within 10 seconds of her record??
Granted, the 3k was shortly thereafter replaced by the 5k in terms of the gold ribbon distance event at WC events, but even so I would have expected an East African to better it by now had rampant doping as alleged by many Let’s Run posters been the reason for their global dominance. -

Mariana Trench IQ.
The fact that Chinese, East Germans, and so on were heavily doped doesn't somehow negate the East African doping. Different types of dope, different testing protocols.
The rampant doping is not "alleged" by LetsRun. It's factually proven. Go look up a list of confirmed dopers caught during these last few years, and then remember that the majority don't get popped. Research the testing (or lack thereof) present in Ethiopia and Kenya.
And for God's sake, Genzebe did run faster than one of the most notorious Chinese times. And her coach was caught with EPO. Anyone defending her is a clown. -
When do we hear that Centro is dropping out ?
There is a HS 100 (B&G) - will they get Boling and or Williams to run ?
