Kudos to these girls. Hope they succeed.

Create a third category. There are hardly any transgender athletes as it is so it wouldn’t be a big deal to add a few events to the schedule if there are transgender athletes wishing to compete. Why is that so difficult?
As a liberal, progressive, left-of-left guy... I have to say...
I support the girls who brought the suit.
So, there's that.

That would never work since it would only amplify their calls of being discriminated against. It still makes them segregated. It's a really tough issue. I think the only fair one, would be requiring even at the high school level that they undergo a year or two of hormone replacement therapy before they can compete.
It just really angers me that we even have this debate and that these boys are so brazen to do stuff like this.

The problem is that scholarship aren’t given based on state placing. They are based on times which racing against the TG athletes doesn’t really affect
Everyone in CT knows the towns these dumb girls are from are extremely racist.
They need to suck it up and run faster. No one denied these girls anything.
Who's to say that the girls would not have run faster if they weren't feeling dejected and discouraged before they lined up against the trans athletes? Imagine being someone competitive as the top biological females, and feeling like all of your training is in vain if you used to be a winner but now lose every time you race a biological male??
Not all people focus solely on time. Some focus on actually winning....

Requiring someone to do hormone replacement is asking for a future lawsuit. The human body is not fully understood so asking someone to change their natural hormone profile would be against any medical associations advice.
They are segregating themselves with the label of transgender.
This is in fact not a complicated issue AT ALL.

I would bet my life savings that you can't provide any evidence for anything you said here. You are just as mentally ill as the men who think they are women.
Why should state titles, which millions of athletes set as their highest goal in high school, be regarded as of no significance, to girls deprived by boys of titles, but regarded as of absolute significance to the boys who call themselves girls and take their state titles?
The article has a link to a document detailing the suit.
Filed on behalf of 3 minors against the state of Connecticut for violation of title IX (my 2 minute skim)
So what. Thiss needs multiple threads.
Besides, this thread identifies as something that it's not.
So there.

If nothing else, you have convinced me that you are highly qualified to recognize too stupid.
I fully support these athletes standing up for their rights. There is a ton of social pressure to just go along with these policies. Hopefully this will inspire more to do the same.
This is good. I think the courts will rule in favor of the trans athlete, not understanding even the basics of athletics. I suspect there is some kind of precedent set in previous cases about discrimination against trans folk that basically lets them do what they want in terms of gender. I don't think being represented by a hate group is the right way to go about this though. A strong case would focus on the biological advantages a y chromosome gives transgender athletes, not insisting that they are male. To get transgenders out of women's sports, we need to focus on their biology, their very dna, not their gender identities.

Love the unbiased reporting...
It would be more helpful to read a news article on this development rather than an editorial.
It's about time someone got the stones to call the trans runners bluff. Identify with your gender, compete with your sex.
What if Rupp dressed up as Mrs Roper from Three’s Company? He’d win every female race and get as many $300,000 school district superintendent jobs he wanted.
Isn't it a state issue? According to the article, 33 states do not allow transgender females to compete without documentation. The girl makes it sound as if guys with wigs have taken over Connecticut's HS girls T&F and stolen their scholarships. Are there more than the two I saw in another thread? She also rails against the Equality Act, which does not address sports, even though it's her own state screwing her over.
It seems she is being used as an irrelvant pawn by a group opposed to the Equality Act for reasons other than sports.
