Yeah, everyone has work and family, but some people choose to enrich their lives by constantly educating themselves about the world versus what I imagine your existence consists of which is probably cable TV, binge drinking, and porn.

if he is a man, ask him about women's productive rights. They seem to be experts.
They're probably good on Roe v Wade, 2nd Amendment rights, Trump, walls, and God v Allah.

Yea. Bingo.
Every other nation is full of art, film and literature experts. And they are super informed on all the critical economic and policy issues of the day. That explains people from everywhere but America.
Actually I have talked with a lot of americans and I think they are boring but that's not because of lack of knowledge. Its more like they shy away from discussing any topic that is even slightly controversial or not not 100% small talk like movies, beer or cars or something. That means most discussions are very hollow. And as americans have little experience discussing more important matters they have less proficiency in discussing those aspects. It really is a pity.

Australia has gun control. That's a good example for the USA to follow.
How about you move to Australia if you hate freedom so much.
So sorry that most of our people with art, music, film degrees are not out running because they are busy earning a living as baristas. I recently was on a run and caught up with a young guy and young lady and we had a scintillating conversation about the guy's work designing field programmable gate arrays and the young lady's work on designing and marketing new joint repair and replacement hardware. It's so sad the most foreigners are so deficient in the technical fields that it is difficult for them to participate in an interesting discussion.

I went hiking with some Aussies a few months back and found their better breadth of knowledge invigorating, especially insofar as the quality of the conversation was concerned.
I'm surprised the Aussies stayed sober long enough to go hiking.
And how do we know this is an actual observation based on true and accurate reporting?
With the proliferation of social media disinformation being spread these days with the expressed purpose of sowing animosity and division, one cannot be so sure this is nut just such a case. So how do we know you are not a Russian disseminating falsehoods and lies?
And, for that matter, I wouldn't be so sure you are running with a genuine American. Maybe you were, or maybe it was a "fake" American planted to make America look bad.
This isn't your grandmother's running group anymore, I hate to say.

Also, as an American, the richest country on earth, shouldn't you have to spend LESS time worrying about paying the bills than the average person? Americans as a whole seem to grind their lives away paying for an extra bedroom on their house and miss out on some of the very best parts of life.

Ummm, uhhhh, huhhhh, uhhhhhmmmm, huhhhhhh, ummmmmm isn't that why America is the richest country? Cause, ummmmm, uhhhhh, Americans work hard? huhhh huhhh

Solid troll
Many American conversations revolve around the basic fact that European males tend to be total bitches when training and racing. European women not bad!

Working hard shouldn't equal more time worrying bills.
The same misplaced values that lead to overworking lead to overspending on trivial crap that don't improve our lives. The sad thing is most Americans wouldn't know what to do with free time if they had it, once they finished binge-watching every mindless show.
In short, being an American is a zero sum game.

Lol, i'd like to see you try your hand at Russian.

you might want to review your use of pronouns. it is generally agreed that the pronoun should agree with the noun in number, so your question should read: are there any topics that I should bring up?
however...
if this is a serious question, and you genuinely want to know how to engage Americans in conversation, and...
if the evidence of this forum is anything to go by, then...
the single topic most likely to generate conversation among your American running friends is...
shorts.
there are a seriously inordinate number of threads on this forum on the various aspects of shorts being worn while preparing to, training for, and participating in running related activities of all kinds.
* should shorts be split shorts or not?
* should shorts be worn over, under, or instead of tights or half tights?
* should shorts be worn with, instead of, as well as or without underwear, and if so which sort, form, and fabric of underwear is most appropriate with each type of shorts and how often should either or both of these garments be changed, laundered and or disposed of?
* do any of these details change depending on whether the run is on trail, road, cross country or track?
* do any of these details change depending on whether the run is fartlek, progression, tempo, track session or race?
* do any of these details change depending on race distance, time of year, temperature, humidity or skin colour?
* do any of these details change depending on the age of the athlete or their political affiliation, weight, hair colour or dietary preferences?
I'm fairly sure I've left out at least one topic of vital importance to American runners. maybe you could ask your friends to discus this on your next run and get back to me so that we can complete the list.
cheers.
