You don't consider music, art, and film fun?
Also, as an American, the richest country on earth, shouldn't you have to spend LESS time worrying about paying the bills than the average person? Americans as a whole seem to grind their lives away paying for an extra bedroom on their house and miss out on some of the very best parts of life.
I think art, film and literature might be considered meaningless in America because of the focus of education as mainly a job prep program rather than preparing people for life.
I think part of the draw of good film and art is that it is meaningful in the context of most people's lives. Struggle and questions about relationships, family, aging and dying, our place in the universe and how we should spend our limited time here is relevant to everyone. Michael Bay movies not so much.
Not everyone has the luxury of time to enjoy art, but if you have time to post on LRC then time isn't the limiting factor.
Saying you are too busy with your life to worry about these things is a bit like saying you are too busy running to read about training theory. Sure, it might work for some people, but it doesn't seem like the best mindset to have.
