I'm aware that Kinvaras are widely considered to have poor durability, but that sure doesn't agree with my experience. I'm generally pretty easy on shoes but most shoes wear a lot faster than the Kinvaras for me. For example, last fall I bought my first pair of Nike Lunar Tempo 2's and loved them. Unfortunately by the time I discovered them they'd already been discontinued and I've never been able to find another pair. Within a few months they were showing obvious wear while several older pairs of Kinvaras were still in fine shape. I stopped using the Lunar Tempos for training but kept them as long-distance racing shoes because they're lighter than the Kinvaras, and I figure I can still get half a dozen or so half-marathons and marathons out of them. But the Kinvaras are, for me, the best compromise between weight and durability for daily training.
