Relays show how hopeless a lot of runners are at coordinating as a team. I have never seen so many butchered baton changes. How hard can it be to take a baton while running in a straight line - ok, sometimes they're on a bend, but same principle. Sports competitors with ball-passing skills would have to roll their eyes. And so many 400m runners have no idea how to measure the distance, running the first half way too fast and so drowning in the last 50m. For some sprinters, running seems to be a rush of blood to the head.
