I was thinking about the risk/reward thing the other day:
It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to dope, get really good, and start winning big races. How crazy would it be to win the Olympics or a Diamond League race, even if you knew you were cheating?! Just invest the prize money, don’t accept endorsements, and get ready to give it all back one day. haha
It would still take massive talent and dedication to get to that point. Not like Wejo could have gotten to the Olympics with a solid doping regiment and he was awesome.
Then maybe you get caught and it’s all over, it was still exciting. Still exhilarating.
I loved watching Lance Armstrong win those Tour de France races. It was absolutely amazing to watch.
Then he got busted and I think he’s a piece of sh*t, but watching the old clips is still pretty fun because it was so bloody exciting…. and you knew everyone in the front was cheating too.
So, that’s happening in track and field as well. If Athlete A wins the Olympics and seems suspect, I just assume everyone else behind is cheating too if they made it to the final.
Let the comments roll forth!
Can’t do this anymore. This is my final post on this site. It’s been interesting being part of this community for so long. Enjoyed the many great discussions about running. However, must be said, that my opinions about a certain section of the LRC posters, athletics government and media will never change.
Peace ✌?
lmao

Can't pull the race card anymore.

Will you continue to play a Kenyan elsewhere?

Fixed that for you.
Sacrificial lamb to make it seem that they are going after cheats. The times on Sunday will still be ridiculous. They are all on drugs! The game is not to get caught!

Sorry, but like I have said for the sprints, there is no ubermensch.
Anybody faster than a doped excellent athlete is himself doped.
Drugs WORK. And they’re scary as hell
Yes! Breaking a world record = beating all the doped up talents = being a doper.
Not that complicated.
I was re-reading what Jon Gault wrote about him after his WR in October. He has the same agents as Matthew Kisorio, Genzebe Dibaba.
https://www.letsrun.com/news/2018/10/new-half-marathon-world-record-holder-abraham-kiptum-run-fast-valencia/The biological passport has always been total BS and it continues to be total BS.
Kiptum has been busted, not because he has used any drugs, but because his values went up and down in a normal fashion.
I like Kiptum and have been looking forward to his race.
Big Pharma is destroying athletics, and they don't care in the least what happens to anyone.
This is a really sad event, based 100 percent entirely on politics, and has nothing to do with healthy athletics.
In fact it's the opposite. This is a really sad day for athletics.

Paula had 3 abnormal blood results, but her buddy Seb Coe helped her out. She played the game and won. Women who are on drugs can’t get within minutes of her WR.
Abraham should have been smarter. He most definitely was tested more after his WR (if he was tested at all) and triggered the passport pretty quickly. Oh well, a good lesson for aspiring dopers.
A positive thing is that antidoping begin to catch some big name, after Kiprop now Kiptum. But I really wonder if there is one
that is clean at that kind of elite level. When Kiptum made the World Record in 58'18", to me it was the greatest performance I've ever seen on the road , (togheter with Eliud record). I mean this guy run at a 2'45"/km for 21,097 km. with an incredible running form. But I dont know, the news to me really leave me indifferent, I' m not surprise at all, is like to have a proof of something that I already knew.

Which is interesting cause the evidence against Paula is her bio passport data.
Not defending her, but your previous post was a tearful rant defending a cheat busted because of his bio passport data.

Nooooooo! Please don't do this to us El K! Please hang around at least until one of the Manangois get busted later in the summer. Remember - each new Kenyan bust proves that every Western athlete is doping too. Casual Observer will be along soon to say the same thing soon and RekRunner will pretend to argue with him that it doesn't matter because peds don't work....over and over and over for the next 20 pages of this thread...
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
