Agree with this!
Brad might not be the best coach out there for her, but he's experienced and knows what he's doing (just not for her maybe), and I never thought it was a romance thing at all.
I wanted them both to succeed.

Honesty is the best answer.
And sometimes women just get along better with other women more than men, and in a career setting it's also depending on the career. I think it's also based on background and prior experience. I am a guy and worked in an office with all women (editing/writing), but I know a woman who worked in an office with all dudes (trash disposal company) and we both felt out of place--the women were cliquey to me and the guys harassed her.
Some other women I know have more guy friends than girl friends. Depends on the person. I'm friends with a female USAF Lt. Col. and she said she got along better with the guys b/c there was less drama.
In your situation I'd be honest and say hey you're being creepy by hanging out with me all the time. I think most guys, if they aren't douches, would respect that honesty and back off.
Hard only if you make it hard.
"How do you explain to someone that they're creepy when you'd be totally okay with your 25 year old female friend doing the same things the creepy dude is doing? "
If you are upfront and say "hey I'm just more comfortable hanging w/my female friends now vs. guy friends, and you're being creepy b/c of (specific reason)" some guys would be ok with that b/c it's very specific. Men like upfront answers, even if it's not what they want to hear.

Wait a second. Allie got all her fame by being the poster child of “strong not skinny.” She said she kept getting hurt in the past when she tried to keep her weight down to levels of other elites.
Now she seems to have impact injuries (hence pool running) which would be exacerbated by high mileage+weight.
So perhaps she gets injured when she’s lighter and when she’s heavier? Many people, like me, just don’t have the genetic durability for extreme distance training. At that elite level, injury risk is absurdly high as everyone is struggling to knock off seconds.
She could have simply stated, “I’m going in a different direction," rather than blaming-not-blaming the coach for her injuries.
That said, I wish them both well in their quests for excellence.
+1

First part is right. Second part that you assume impact injuries are from mileage and weight. She has injuries because the current coach (Brad) had her doing workouts that caused injuries and he expected her to continue even though she was injured and this created the injuries to be come worse.
Actually, in her podcast with running rogue, Allie acknowledged that Brad would tell her not to do a session (due to fatigue/nagging injury), and she would keep questioning him why she couldn't run/that she wanted to run. This got to a point where he no longer knew what to do with her as she was not following his advice and continuing to run rather than take a break. She then claims he should have stopped her from running and it is all his fault she persisted to run against his advice. She sounds like a whiny child who refuses to take responsibility for childish behaviors.
Maybe Alexi was too much competition?
Bravey’s swimsuit was, shall we say, quite small and tight.
I heard from my Buffalo sources that the great Pete Holokwa is going to be taking the reins of Allie's training. Expect her to win gold in Tokyo next summer
