What are they doing in TX? Who goes to TX to improve as a distance runner?

Well after Brad ditched his whole team of pro athletes he was working with for Allie, they moved to Arizona to train so they could easily alternate between sea level and altitude. But now Allie has escaped to Texas where she has been for a bit. I do wish her well. I just feel sad for those other athletes who were working with Brad before.
Laugh Reacts Only ???
Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Good luck to Allie
Brad--what goes around comes around.
Austin is a weird choice.

Agreed to Brad dumping his whole team to coach just her should be the end of his career. What a terrible decision to make. Also all the stuff he said to the press talking about how Allie was the best runner he ever coached? Forget it. Over. Agreed to all the Brad and Allie TV channel being so cringeworthy. Glad that's over.
So Allie is living in Austin now? Strange town to start running in. I guess she'll be moving to Mammoth soon.
My marathon predictions remain
Jordan
Desi
Allie.
Sad that no young up and comers have made anything close to a successful transition to the marathon.
don't see allie finishing ahead of molly, jordan, sisson, sara hall, taylor or desi .

If Hasay makes it to the line maybe. Sisson and Huddle will definitely be there for sure and they'll be better than Linden who is nearly ten years past her prime. There's a couple of Africans with American citizenship that can make the team and have a high ceiling on a good day. Allie...she's good, if those other athletes are on their game she is no match from what she's shown. She's heavier and her endurance is not better, obviously has less speed than the best Americans. She has to be tip top on the day, be strong on the hills, be tougher in heat and be as fit as possible. And then if she makes it she won't place as well in the Olympics as her counterparts would honestly they are better athletes and she wouldn't say otherwise. That's like Jared Ward saying he's the 6th best marathoner because of his Olympic placing when there are scores of east Africans that would mop the floor with him most days. Or even Feyisa, a silver medalist that has done nothing since then.
If they just stayed in Boulder it would have worked out. Moving to crappier areas was the mistake. boulder is a magical place

I'm optimistic about Sisson as well. But...it's hard to be THAT certain about how she'll do in the trials when she hasn't run a marathon yet...

You can't count out Emma Bates. She is a real threat at top 3.

LOL no
Emma won CIM in her debut and kicked Des's arse in NYC half.
Not sure if that is top 3 but it is definitely ahead of Des.
Wait a second. Allie got all her fame by being the poster child of “strong not skinny.” She said she kept getting hurt in the past when she tried to keep her weight down to levels of other elites.
Now she seems to have impact injuries (hence pool running) which would be exacerbated by high mileage+weight.
So perhaps she gets injured when she’s lighter and when she’s heavier? Many people, like me, just don’t have the genetic durability for extreme distance training. At that elite level, injury risk is absurdly high as everyone is struggling to knock off seconds.
She could have simply stated, “I’m going in a different direction," rather than blaming-not-blaming the coach for her injuries.
That said, I wish them both well in their quests for excellence.

I heard her next post is going to be blaming him for stealing her Fossil watch and $30

I caught that.
I don't think she can blame him for her injuries - I believe Brad is a smarter coach than to push his athletes too far. He did that to himself when he was younger so he knows better. Also, in the videos and posts he's always saying go how you feel, not too fast, etc....I just don't see him being the cause of her injuries. Maybe she has some bio-mechanical issues that lead her down the injury road.
Brad is a talented coach and this is not the end of his career. Maybe not a great idea to dump his team but we don't know what went into decisions, just what we see on social media. And that's rarely the whole story.
Best wishes to both Brad and Allie.
Brad will be fine. Ever hear of Jordan Hasay?

But he also does asinine things like have them do a long hard tempo workout in the morning and short sprints in the afternoon. Yes, lets fatigue the muscles and then ask slow-twitch runners to do short intense sprints on those drained fatigued muscles....... that's a great idea. No risk of injury there. Maybe some small gains t be made but the injury risk is far greater than any potential benefits. Brad constantly seems to be bad at weighing those two things.
Brad has a lot of experience/knowledge but has a very hard time putting that into a program that is sane and works well for long. There is a gap between knowledge and putting that into a comprehensive program. Always has been and always will be it seems.
His recent dumping and disloyalty to his other elite athletes has burned many bridges for him. His constant pilfering from other coaches (athletes, workouts for his book, etc) doesn't have him with many friends in the coaching world either. Get the fork ready.... someone is pretty much done.
Can someone link the thread from when he dumped his other athletes?

This is laughable to say the least. Like others have already said, if Hassay is healthy, she makes it. She's the class of the field at the moment.
Desi is a smart choice, sure, but I wouldn't say she's a lock. She's still running excellent times in races, but I think she's on her way out here soon. Her Boston 2019 performance was awesome, though.
But why is there no mention of Huddle, Sisson, Taylor, Bruce, Cragg, or Flanagan? I refuse to believe that Allie will best all of them come the Trials. I'd to hear an explanation.
She doesn't actually deny it. She says the many injuries she experienced while being coached by him are "not necessarily Brad’s fault..." It's hard to read that any way other than her saying she blames him for them.

Also I call BS of her saying she does not blame him for her injuries. If you have to deny it that way then you definitely do blame him!
