It's clear to me now that the race is on to create the midsole foam that will make running much more enjoyable, and faster. This started maybe 10 years ago but has made incredible strides in the last few years. What can we expect in the future? I believe in the next 5, 10 15 years the ultimate foams will be "tuned" to the road. They will be very firm yet paradoxically very soft at the same time! I believe most runners need stability and a shoes will be inflexible. It will have a very durable outsole and a very comfortable upper. This will be the shoe that brings happiness! I even hope it encourages those that would not otherwise run to take it up - simply because it is so much fun to run in these shoes. Does anyone else feel that way about the future of running shoes?
